Wedding shoes-CONVERSE :)

I cant walk in heels. Last time I tried was my highschool graduation, and i broke my toe haha. So our entire wedding party is wearing converse "chucks." Anyone else wearing shoes "out of the norm" for their wedding? Post your pics!!

@OGalecia love your name BTW haha. mine will be customized too, and I plan on stringing them with tulle instead of laces, since a lot of my dress is tulle.

Chucks with wedding gear is not all that unusual. It was really trendy a few years ago.

I agree with PP's, if you're wanting the WP to wear them you should pay for them. Doesn't really matter that I don't know your lyfe. I do find it hard to believe that your WP is thrilled to be buying these for your day.

Dang I went looking for the picture that we took of all of us in our sparkly toms for you but no dice. The picture looked nice but we literally took one picture of the shoes and that was the only time they were seen because we wore floor length dresses. I just don't see why the shoes need to be dictated when they mosy likely won't be seen anyways. This is with the assumption of the bridesmaids wearing long dresses.

I am wearing these pikolinos, they aren't sparkly or super high-heeled, but i think are really nice and the quality is great. They have a super squishy foot bed and are so comfortable. They are a compromise between a flat and a heel, but aren't extremely bridal ( at lead i don't think so), but i will 100% wear these after the wedding.

eta: i don't have a wedding party, so thats not an issue for me.

I can't wear heels either! We're inside all day at the same venue so I'm getting everyone except me silver ballet slippers for comfort and I have silvery flats. Should be perfect!

FH and I are wearing converse as well asour wedding party. I asked my girls if they wanted to wear converse. They were all on board for it. I paid for their shoes. I got them the Monochrome White low top, I'll be wearing the Monochrome white High tops. FH will be wearing custom leather brown ones. And our 2yr son will be wearing Blue ones to go with his suit. Soo excited to wear them. Going to bling them out mine and the BMs and change the laces on mine.

I have really bad ankles, so I don't plan on getting heels. Sandals I think are my best bet. But my FH wants to wear chucks and have the groomsmen wear them too.

I'm wearing some Chucks too! Slip on chucks!

After reading the comments on this thread, I want to respond to a few:

Chucks with formal wear because I refuse to be uncomfortable on my wedding day when no one is even going to see my shoes unless I show them. Also, I will be wearing them on my honeymoon too.

$65 isn't a lot of money for a pair of shoes. That's how much it cost for a custom order, I'm sure non custom are cheaper

Its not always about being trendy, sometimes it's just personal preference.

Just scored an all white pair converse yesterday from macys online. And they do NOT have the red and blue stripe down the sole. Anyway i will be ordering swarvorski rhinestones off amazon and applying myself along with satin or tulle laces. Best part they were $30!!!

I've read most of these comments and wow, all the original poster asked was for ppl to post picks of the "non-traditional" shoes

My wedding party is wearing converse as well, they are all on board - we are paying for them because we want to customize them with their names on them - but otherwise our party was game for buying them as well because our party loves converse - oddly enough it's not hard to believe that people would be okay with paying $50+ for a pair of chucks that they can wear again and again and again any day of the week. But everyone is okay for ladies to spend $100+ on a dress they will wear once.

Some of us can get out of hand with our opinions. remember the old saying" if you have nothing nice to say, say nothing at all" - you don't like it fine keep that to yourself and move on - its not hard. we need to be nicer in this forum

I'll be wearing these and my girls will be wearing the same in blush glitter. I did tell them I would pay for them. They said that wasn't necessary but I'm insisting since I'm dictating their footwear.

Ellenwood, people are pointing out valid concerns about OP's plan. We're not here to blow glitter around. We're here to be honest and say thing that the wedding couple's IRL friends/family would never say.

@OP, maybe you can find very similar shoes to Converse that are cheaper and you could buy those for your bridal party instead of having them each buy a pair of Converse that they may/may not wear again. I know there are a lot of off-brand shoes that look just like converse.
