Wedding shoes for a girl that hates wearing shoes?

Melanie, on April 9, 2019 at 3:31 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 7

Hey all!

I'm usually barefoot if I am not mandated to wear shoes, but I'm getting married on a farm in a big pasture and shoes are pretty much necessary. My dress is pretty princess-y (unexpected!) so my original thought of wearing cowboy boots might be out (unless you all have some suggestions), and heels are just out of the question, for many reasons.

Please help me. I have no idea what to do here.

Thank you in advance!

Melanie

I feel you can wear cowboy boots if you wanted to! I see a lot of brides wearing them. They look cute and no one can really see them with a long dress. I HATE wearing shoes lol. I would be barefoot all the time if I could. Here are the barefoot sandals my mom made for me and all my girls.

You could wear about any shoe under a ball gown - no one is going to see the shoes unless you take pictures with your dress hiked up. Boots, flats, tennis shoes, etc are all choices

You can wear whatever feels good to you. Flats, sandals, or sneakers (I personally think they are a juvenile choice but some wear them), are all options.

I'm wearing cowboy boots to our wedding reception. They make a whole range of styles and you can find boots that are more "bridal". The name of the brand that mine are is Corral and I ordered them through Cavender's. The first pair I ordered I didn't like in person and there was no issue at all with returning them. Cavender's actually has an entire section of "wedding boots". I'll add the link. These are my bridal boots:

Victorian boots work great for the classic southern Belle look. They look more formal than cowboy boots. They also offer more support because of the laces. Some have the same heel as the cowboy boots. The Manhattan button ones usually do (Mary Poppins boots but more subdued and neutral colors)

Black or white for a white dress

Brown or ivory for a ivory dress

There were a awesome pair that were embellished with hearts that were brown. I would have gotten them if they weren't $300. My wedding is in Texas, I get cowboy boots. I am probably wearing ballet flats. I wear ballet flats daily.

Thanks ladies! You all gave me some good ideas to get started on the process. I'm actually looking into some booties and have found some good options. I appreciate the help!
