I have a question for the community about a shower... Has anyone ever heard of or had at their own shower basket raffles? I'm helping plan a wedding and the festivities that go along with it and one of the bridesmaids recommended selling raffle tickets for different baskets. Apparently at a shower she went to recently there was a big "Basket of Cheer" where all the bridesmaids contributed a bottle of alcohol and they each brought their own basket. They sold raffle tickets and put the money in a honeymoon fund for the couple. I've never seen this or even heard about doing something like this so I just wondered if anyone else had?! And, what are your thoughts on this?
Another question relative to the shower, this same bridesmaid suggested sending a poem with the invite asking for gift cards (specifically for Lowe's or Home Depot), because the bride and groom are about to buy a fixer-upper house... what does everyone think the etiquette on that is?
