Wedding shower gift themes

I’d let them choose. They may have just vetoed your opinion to surprise you later on with what you really wanted.

I like a travel theme personally. What are some of your interests? I would go off of that.

I like the idea of a date night theme where the focus is on giving the couple or bride experiences rather than a gift like maybe gift card for a restaurant you and your spouse love for a dinner or something, I don’t know.

I'm crazy but I want the theme of mine to be a tea party or like a classy/elegant cats.

A theme for gifts, not a theme for the shower? Do you have a registry? I wonder if they’re trying to feel you out to see if you maybe had a lingerie shower in mind or preferred certain items off your registry? Some other shower gift themes are kitchen gear or recipes where each person shares a favorite recipe with you. Or stock the bar, which is a bit controversial in some circles depending on if your asking for your home bar to be stocked or your wedding bar to be stocked.

Ive never heard of a theme for the gifts. My shower is this upcoming Saturday and the shower has a theme (Parisian glam, hot pink, gold sparkle, black and white stripes) it’s gonna be gorgeous! I can’t wait to see what my mom and moh did! But the gifts I’m getting are just things I put on my registry. I don’t understand a theme of clocks, you want 30+ clocks? Why? What are you going to do with all those clocks? 🤷🏼‍♀️

Hmm not sure exactly what is meant by a gift theme... my shower was Starry night themed because it's my favorite painting! The hostess asked everyone to bring a copy of their favorite recipe with them, but even though I received a ton of gifts i only got recipes from about 3 people.

View Quoted Comment Ok, this (honey fund instead of traditional registry) may be why they’re asking for a theme. Showers include gift opening and no one wants their card of cash/check opened in front of other people. Date night could work well as people could buy or make things for that. Perhaps make sure your shower hosts know what kinds of things you guys like to do on date night so you get gifts you’ll enjoy. For example, if you don’t like white wine mention that you love a good bottle of red. 😁
