Wedding Shower Invitees

We decided we would have a wedding shower rather than the typical bridal shower only because I don’t like all the attention on me and would rather have my fiancé by my side and be celebrating with him. My aunt was telling my mom that at a wedding shower you are supposed to invite everyone in the guest list to the wedding shower. That sounds like way too many because we are inviting 190 guest to our wedding. What is typical?

    For my bridal shower list, I nixed all of the out of town women except for a few key close relatives like FH's grandmother. Maybe you can do the same? Remove anyone who is more than like 2 hours away from the venue? I don't know if that would cut anything for you. It definitely did for us.

    For my bridal shower I invited like 11 women. Mostly immediate family of ours and few close friends flower girls mom, grooms women my best friend.

    I think the shower should just be the wedding party and your closest family and friends, not everyone that’s invited to the wedding.

    Anyone invited to a shower has to be invited to the wedding, not the other way around!
