Wedding Shower/bridal Shower

MK, on March 22, 2021 at 9:40 AM Posted in Parties and Events 0 6

Originally, my MOH was throwing my a bridal shower in late Spring, and my parents were throwing my fiancé and I a wedding (couples) shower in late Summer. We have since had a lot of friends announce that they are pregnant, so we decided to only do one shower so that we can schedule all of our showers around each other's! So they will throw one huge party together. I love the idea of a "Breakfast at Tiffany's" themed bridal shower, but if we do a couples shower, I think more of an "I do BBQ" would be more fitting --

What are you guys doing?

Bridal shower or wedding shower? What weekend day is the best to host a shower? Drop in with finger foods or set times with lunch/dinner?

We're having two couple's showers! One that my MOH is throwing us with our friend group, and one my FH's brother and wife are hosting with our family and family friends group. Not sure if I'm having a bridal shower since none of our friends/family have offered, which is fine!

The only thing we've actually talked about is having a blind wine tasting table. This will help us choose 2 whites and 2 reds for our wedding reception!

I personally like showers to be held on Saturdays with the time slot of 1pm-4pm. I feel like that's a good time for a set lunch menu or just to have finger foods about!

I opted for a bridal shower from my bridal party and it was an afternoon tea party theme

I think early afternoon is the best time for showers! And I'd go for finger foods that are easy to eat while mingling and good for grazing. 🍽️

I did a bridal shower (with lots of pink, black, and white décor), but have also been to several couples showers which are really fun! You could do an "I Do BBQ" or a Pizza Party, Backyard Bonfire, Brunch & Bubbly, or an evening event like a "Martini Mixer". 🍹

I'm just having one shower: a bridal shower! We're mainly doing it to keep it a little smaller so folks feel safe.

I LOVE the Breakfast at Tiffany's theme! That is SO cute.

A bridal shower and wedding shower are actually the same thing.

Typically the ones I have attended are finger foods and desserts at a set time on a Saturday afternoon. I don't expect we will have one because we don't live close to anyone who is invited to the wedding.

A bridal shower is for the bride, typically with the bride's girlfriends, without the groom. A wedding shower (or couple shower) is for the bride and groom together, to invite couples.
