One feature I've noticed is lacking is an ability to sort vendors by the number of guests they can accommodate. I don't think I'd pay much attention to it if we were having between one hundred and two hundred guests. We're currently planning on ten times that number, though. Anybody else frustrated by this inability? Did you find some resolution?

All I know is that is a lot of people I couldn't even imagine I don't even think there is a venue that can hold up to that many people most people only invite 250 to 300

You would need to look for vendors that work on conferences, so a hotel would be where I would start. Your venue should be able to hook you up with vendors that can accommodate that size of wedding if they themselves can accommodate that many guests. Do you have a venue already?

Have you booked a venue yet? The only type of venues I could imagine accommodating that many people would be a VERY open outdoor venue or maybe a VERY large hotel ballroom.

My best suggestion would be to hire a wedding coordinator. If you really have a guest list of over a thousand people, you’re going to need help organizing and clearly would have the finances to budget one. When you’re putting that kind of money out for a wedding, do yourself a favor and hire a professional.

We have narrowed down the venue to one of two. Almost none were willing to book more than a year from the date so, we basically have to wait until February to book our venue. Which I think is crazy.

Not even remotely close to the question, first. Second, don't pretend to know somebody else's budget based on the size of their wedding. Third, a professional wouldn't help with a sorting issue unless they were a programmer. Fourth, I know what I want AND what I'm doing. Thanks for your off-topic response. Goodbye.

My suggestion would be to ask your venue once you are able to book, or even ask them before they let you book. Your venue should be able to help you find vendors who can accommodate your number of guests (if they do not offer things like food and bar services themselves). If you choose a venue that regularly hosts large conferences, they most likely have a list of vendors they typically work with for those conferences.

    Good Luck! Smiley smile

I think there may be a misunderstanding about the question. I would like to be able to, on my own, sort vendors according to how many people they can accommodate. I feel like I'm the only bride dealing with this issue.
I'm very selective about what I like, so liking something a vendor has done and then finding out that they only service weddings of a different size has become a frustrating norm that I would like to change. Am I alone?
I'm NOT seeking advice. Let me make that clear.

I'm sorry, I just don't think you'll find that this is a very common issue simply because your guest count is so uncommon. Guest count varies for everyone on this site, but I can't think of any wedding with that massive of a guest list aside from Prince William's wedding.

I don't think you should be upset with the advice people have offered you in your planning process, that's probably all most of us can do to help as we can't relate to having a wedding that size. You posted on a public forum, so people offered their thoughts and opinions on your situation in an attempt to help. I don't think anyone was trying to offend you in the slightest.

Everyone has different struggles throughout the wedding planning process and if your guest list is that large, this might just be one of those struggles you'll have to deal with in your planning. Of course there's nothing wrong with wanting that many people at your wedding and I thought Jeannie and Kaysey both made great suggestions to help with your problem! All you can do is stick with it and you'll eventually find the right vendors for your big day Smiley smile

It's the fact that the advice is not even about the actual question. I would think brides with smaller guest lists are also having trouble sorting out appropriately sized vendors,, too. However all I'm seeing in response to my question is "If your guest list wasn't so big..." that's not the issue that's up for discussion.

This would be a feature that would need to be added by the programmers. So that is where you should be directing this question if you are going to be rude to anyone who comments. Clearly none of us can fix it for you.

The people who commented weren't able to fix your specific problem with the way the website is organized, so they offered other solutions which is what you asked for in your original post, "Did you find some resolution?". Example: asking your venue for a list of vendors they've worked with who have accommodated that amount of people before.

Everyone here is just trying to help each other the best they can. None of the responses said anything along the lines of "if your guest list wasn't so big" or tried to talk you out of it, just offering solutions like you asked for based on your situation. Best of luck in your planning!

I wasn't asking for any of us to fix it. I was asking if anyone else was experiencing the same problem. Idk why that's difficult to comprehend. If you haven't experienced it, you haven't experienced it. If you haven't experienced it, I don't want your input. Seems like I'm getting a LOT of that, though. My responses are direct, just like everything else about me. I don't fluff things out for people's sensitivities. Ever. Take it or leave it, that's your option.

The question you quoted from my post was aimed SPECIFICALLY at others who've had the same issue.
Thank you. May your future be good to you.

Hi Nakesha! There is a capacity filter you can use when searching for venues on WeddingWire!

If you're on a computer, you'll see the search filters on the left hand side of the screen when searching for wedding venues:

    Wedding size 1

The average wedding guest list size in the US right now is around 125, so the filters reflect sizes closer to that - but you can definitely use the 400+ filter to get you started!

If you're searching for venues on our app, look for the filter icon in the top right corner of the screen. Click there to open your search filters:

    Wedding size 2
