Wedding Sparklers, anyone doing them? Where to get them?

Mrs L, on February 22, 2012 at 10:15 AM Posted in Community Conversations 0 15

We want to to this as a cute send off. Anyone have a good site (reasonably priced) to purchase them? Anyone else doing this, or been to a wedding that did this?

Check out Phantom Fireworks. There Are a bunch of stores in Ohio. They often have sales and coupons. My sister did sparkler favors for her July 4th wedding that my FH and I got for her. They were super cheap.

But they only sell them in the show room. I don't know where you are because your profile is private.

I went to a wedding that did this. It's a great concept- but it has to be done properly. The wedding I went to got the short ones. There was also no coordination. So we went outside, and lit them. They were completely burned out in less than 30 seconds. The entire area was smoky and people were coughing. Then, we got another set and lit those. Things got worse. By the time the couple actually came out, there were maybe 2-3 sparklers left, and the entire area was filled with smoke. It was a disaster. It was supposed to make for great pictures, and ended up ruining them.

You have to make sure your venue and your county will allow them. Right now, my county is in a drought, and has a burn ban. You couldn't do them if you wanted to. Many places will also require a permit for fireworks, even sparklers.

Sparklers are fun! but you have to check if the wedding venue allows sparklers.

You definitely want at least 20 inch, maybe 36 inch, sparklers in order to have them burn long enough for pictures.

I went to a wedding that did these...it isn't as great of an idea once you have them in action...sparks landed on the bride's dress and burnt it! People were getting burnt. It does make for good pictures, but if you hold the sparklers out, it's dangerous for the bride and groom. If you hold them up, it's dangerous for the guests.

FWIW they did get awesome pics out of them (they used long, 24" ones from memory). I just don't think it's worth the hazard and "ouchs"

As a vendor here i get alerts for these. Some advice, do not get "morning glories" or long bamboo sparklers, they create alot of smoke. For example:

    http://weddingsparklers.posterous.com/yikes-how-not-to-do-a-sparklers-send-off-or-g

Also, we recommend our brides and grooms to confirm with the venue if sparkler use is ok and then to rehearse them to make sure you have enough room if you are planning on doing the tunnel. As a rule of thumb, have about 5 feet on each side of your tunnel, less if you are using smaller sparklers. There are different levels of quality, higher quality sparklers will have sparks that burn out well before hitting the ground (9 inches ignition is our testing standard) due to the purity of the sparklers' slurry.

The most popular size is 36 inch, they last around 4 minutes.

    Good luck!

As a vendor, we get questions about our wedding sparklers all the time. Lots of couples are doing them, so there are many great resources for ideas that will make your wedding amazing. Just make sure you buy actual wedding sparklers because the cheap ones will break apart while they burn. We sell only premium wedding sparklers, and here's a few of our most popular items:

    10 inch sparklers: http://weddingdaysparklers.com/10-inch-wedding-sparklers/

    20 inch sparklers: http://weddingdaysparklers.com/20-inch-wedding-sparklers/

    36 inch sparklers: http://weddingdaysparklers.com/36-inch-wedding-sparklers/

We also have color sparklers, shaped sparklers, and a bunch of other great items, so make sure to visit us at http://weddingdaysparklers.com/ to see what sparklers can do for your wedding.

I got married recently.. My family members were planned to get sparklers for my wedding. And after a long search we came to know about www.asoksparklers.com Their sparklers are very long and they had different colors. They had 75cm,50cm, 35cm long sparklers. They were very safe also to light it.
