Wedding Superstitions - Knives as a wedding gift

I had no idea about this superstition! That's interesting....but we already were gifted knives without a penny so oh well.

I would love to receive knives as a wedding gift - especially ceramic ones, so nope! Don't buy into this one either.

I had no clue about this! However we bought our knife block when we moved in so I didnt ask for it. Though I think I would return the penny. lol

I never heard of this one, and we received a great set of knives for a gift. It's one of my favorite gifts, actually.

It's oddly become a thing that I tend to gift people the knife set on their registry, it's weird, but I always pick that. And I have a knife set on my registry that I hope to get. I'm not believing this one.

I'd never heard this before. I generally don't purchase knives as a wedding gift and FH and I aren't registering (we both already have really nice knife sets anyway) so, I don't think its something we'll need to worry about.

I've heard of this last year, and think it's silly and didn't do this either.

Again I never heard of this and no one I know has ever heard of this. So this would be a no. I am probably gonna put a good set of knives on my registry.

Hahah! I never heard of this but I just texted FH to give his uncle, who gifted us a very nice knife set since FH loves cooking so much, a penny when we see him lol.

Definitely! There are NO knives on our registry, and if someone does give us knifes we will send them a penny in the thank you card.

I heard this recently! FH and I have a knife block set and a set of nice steak knives on our registry...I'm not too worried about the superstition.

Never heard of this one either! We didn't ask for knives because FH likes a really expensive set. But if they were less we would have!

Does a shower gift count? My FBIL and his now wife (then fiancée) gave us some knives at my bridal shower but no penny. They don’t read into superstitions and I’m sure they never heard of this before.

Uh oh! What?! I have never heard of this. I bought my FH $1200 knife set for our upcoming wedding as his day of gift!!!! Whoops that is a lot of money spent on something that is going to come back bite.. I mean cut me!

I've never heard of this one. I'm most likely putting a knife set on our registry as we don't own a decent set ourselves. We're only kind of superstitious about theatre things, and even then, more for habit than anything else.
