That's lucky. We realized a long time ago that we have stuck up taste buds so of course we liked the premium flavor and fillings ha ha.

View Quoted Comment Our bakery told us to do a tasting 3-6 months out. Since I tend to be a “get it done earlier than later” type gal (see catering tasting 22 months out), we went with 6 months.

Ours is scheduled through our venue and it will be be 6 months out.

We did our catering tasting 4 months out (actually, that was an alterations, DJ, AND tasting day, so it was a BIG wedding day... and of course someone wanted me to pick up their shift that day).

Cake I think we did 2 or 3 months out?

We also planned our wedding in less than 8 months.

Oh wow yes that was a busy day! We planned our minimony with about 35 guests in 6 weeks! our big wedding on the other hand I believe it'll be 16months of planning

We did ours a little over a year out from our wedding. It's your preference. I'm a full time student so I wanted to get as much planning done as possible. I would speak with a caterer and get their suggestions.
