Wedding Timeline - 3 pm Ceremony

Katie, on April 18, 2021 at 2:17 PM Posted in Planning 1 4

Hi everyone! I am getting married in two weeks. I am trying to come up with a timeline for the day of the wedding so that there is less chaos but, I am having some trouble and would love ideas or examples!

Our wedding is at 3 pm, we are doing a first look as well. I have four bridesmaids. We are getting ready at the venue, ceremony is at the venue, and reception obviously. Any tips and tricks are beyond appreciated!!!

Thank you (:

We had a 2:30 ceremony. Hair and make up at a salon, got dressed at the reception venue(30 min drive from the salon) and drove to the ceremony site. I think the hair salon said an 8:00 start time. I asked for 7:30 just for enough wiggle room. I’d ask your hair stylist how much time they need. And then count back from when your photographer is going to start pictures/first look. They should also be able to help you create your time line.

I don't know the exact details so I can't suggest a timeline but this is what we will do for ours (I had to prepare a rough timeline really far out in advance so I could gauge how long we'd need certain vendors for).

3pm arrive at location X for first look photos (picked up by limo @ 2:30pm)

    4:15pm leave for ceremony

4:30pm-5pm guests arrive / bridal party freshen up in bridal room @ ceremony venue

    5pm-5:30pm ceremony

    5:30pm-6:30pm photos

    6:30pm leave for reception

I'm also having a 3pm ceremony! Mine is a Sunday, so we've got it ending a little early since some folks will have to work the next day. Here's what I've got planned:

9AM - girls and I go to the salon for hair and makeup

1PM - get to the venue and decorate

2:30 - photographer gets onsite (so we'll get changed shortly before)

3:05 - start walking down the aisle!

    3:45 - cocktail hour starts

    5:00 - dinner is served

    8:00 - guests leave
