So, I was actually going to post a topic about this very thing! I love what I'm reading on here! I'm actually tossing around a very different type of timeline for my wedding day. But we aren't really sure yet!

We talked about (without times, just the order)

    Hair/makeup/spa

Get dressed (bridal suite is already on location)

    First look - Bride/Groom photos

    Photos - Bridal Party

    Last minute hair/makeup touch ups

    Ceremony

*Reception - guests head straight in to barn, find their tables

*Dinner announced - once guests get settled, drinks in hand, guests begin grubbing out to serving stations throughout.

*Family photos - going on during start of reception. 30 minutes MAX for these photos.

Down time - Bridge/groom to bridal suite for 30 minutes of downtime and snacking.

    Introduce bride and groom

    First dance

    Toasts

    *Dinner ends

    Cake cutting

Open dance floor - still including outdoor games, bonfire w/smores, outdoor bar open

Oh that sounds like a great timeline! We had to make ours a little different because both parent sets are divorced and hate each other so we wanted to get the big stuff done quick!

Aw thank you! We've been tossing it around. A lot of what I've been researching said that first looks remove a lot of rushed time between ceremony and cocktail hour. and the 30 minutes of down time and snacking for the bridge and groom were just a cool idea I thought of. I know myself. I know I'll probably want to have some stuff touched up, and every wedding video talks about reminding the bride and groom to eat... and I KNOW myself well enough to know that once I get in the barn with all my friends and family, it'll be talk, talk, talk, drink, and dancing! So this will ensure there's something in my tummy!

How long did you book your photographer for? Your venue space sounds similar to mine. Ours is right next door to each other as well, and we don’t want to do a first look either, but I’m having an extremely hard time creating a wedding timeline. We have to be out our venue by 9pm and want to start between 3-4. I see you said you have your venue between 3-8pm.
