Hi guys! Me and my fiancé got engaged July of 2019, and I thought I had time to plan then of course, Covid and I had found out I was pregnant with our 2nd, so we put off planning! Now I’m having loads of trouble finally deciding where we want to do it at! How did y’all pick your venues?

First search for wedding venues online that are in the city that you want to get married in, and narrow it down to 3-4 options that you want to see in person. Look at price, what's included for that price, whether they have your date available, and the overall style of the venue (elegant ballroom, rustic barn, on the beach, etc). Then visit each of those 3-4 options in person. For the venue that my fiance and I ended up selecting, we fell in love with it during the tour and we both knew that it was where we wanted to hold our wedding once we saw it. Happy venue searching!

My FH and I sat down and discussed what types of venues we wanted to look at, we wanted more elegant, but still laid back so like a winery or golf course ballroom. We definitely didn't want any rustic barn style. So then we narrowed down about 5-8 in our area and made appointments to tour them, after the first two, we realized we needed to set a per person budget, because our venues ranged significantly and the first two were very expensive. We also had to determine whether we were open to friday/sunday weddings, or earlier in the day. Once we did that, we narrowed our search down a bit, and we found a few places that we really were interested in visiting, when we toured our venue, we just knew and went back three days later to book it.

Our first date was in a museum, so we're getting married in a (different) museum. The first thing we had to do though was figure out location, because we have family in several states scattered around the US.

Hello there! I just thought I should mention it. In Toronto, we had an indoor wedding. We did our research and narrowed our search down over time, and we found a few places that we were interested in visiting; when we toured our wedding venue, we just knew and returned shortly afterward to book it. We chose a luxurious venue within our budget and included a beautiful banquet hall serving delicious food to our guests. It's such a lovely setting, and the food is phenomenal!! Congratulations and best wishes for successful planning!!
