Hey Talaya! Welcome to the WeddingWire community!

Have you had the chance to check out the WeddingWire venue search tool?

Here are the Washington DC Wedding Venues that are listed. I know you mentioned that you would love an elegant venue, but have you thought about what type of venue you would like? You can filter this search by venue categories, capacity, and amenities so that could be super helpful to you.

You can also filter this search to specific areas if you wish too!

If you're looking in the city, you might have to expand your budget a bit more. A lot of places are more like $8-$10K in rental fees. How many people are you planning to have there? This could make a huge difference!

One place you may not have thought of is the Mayflower Hotel on Connecticut. I looked at this venue and loved it. It is fairly affordable since you can offset rental costs with catering. That means you would lose the ability to book your own caterer. But they do good food there! I like Mayflower because you get the benefits of a hotel wedding in an historic and elegant setting. another bonus is that they can accommodate almost any number of guests and each of their ballrooms (except the one in the basement) has an historic touch to it.

Gramercy Mansion is nice but they do have a preferred list for catering but i think you can pay for someone who isn't listed not too sure. Also catering by the bay is nice but they have catering included in pricing.
