Hey for those of you who already got married and got your video back from your videographer, did they also give you the raw material? Or was it just the edited video that includes only the highlights???

Hi Shelby. The company was out of New Orleans, and they charged $2,000 for everything

Dang I'm in California. We're getting quoted $2,500 and it would only be a highlight video. He would only include the raw footage of he didn't do the highlight video. Doesn't make much sense to me since the raw isn't edited.

Wow. There is no way I would spend $2500 just on a short highlight video!

I shoot my b-roll in 4k at 60-120 frames per second in 10 bit. I know that's probably gibberish to most of you, but it won't even play in your standard media player because such high quality footage makes for very big file sizes.. Maybe the person you hired is shooting at a lower quality. Sure, 4k 24 frames per second in 8 bit will still look great, and yes it will play a little easier on your media player. But Some videographers prefer to shoot maximum quality and in order to give you ALL those "raw" files, they would have to convert all of them into an easier to play back format. Not to mention if they are shooting in a LOG profile, then the raw files out of camera would look very dull with very low contrast. That might sound weird to some of you. But shooting LOG is the best way to film a wedding because when a wedding is shot outdoors, LOG shooting profiles allow for better dynamic range and an experienced colorist can really bring those colors and contrast back in post production while editing and give you a much better looking image than your standard profile. So if you have a professional videographer who is shooting in 4k 60 FPS in a log profile... You probably wouldn't even know what to do with those "RAW" files. The better question is, how experienced is your videographer?
