Wedding Vow Book: 2 or 1

Baylee, on April 22, 2020 at 10:48 PM Posted in Wedding Ceremony 0 5

My fiance and I are writing our own vows, and thanks to some great discussions on here, I was introduced to vow books. Do the bride and groom each need a vow book, or could we both write our vows in one vow book then hand the book between us during the ceremony? Opinions on this? I was wanting a comprehensive vow book with both of our vows for a keep sake, but am not sure how it would look if I read my vows out of the book, then passed him the book to read his.

I found some on Etsy and we each have one. It has the lyrics of our song on one, and then continued on to the other. Since they’re small we figured we could combine them into a keepsake, and put it on display in our bedroom or something. Just not sure how yet! I figure my hands will be nervous and shaky already, and passing it back and forth would make it more obvious. Plus the two books are really cute😁

If you share someone will see what was written first and I think it takes the surprise away of hearing those heartfelt words for the first at the alter.

We got two matching ones from Etsy with our date on the front. One says “his” and the other says “hers”

If you want one keepsake, one says vows. Then passes it to the officiant who then gives it to the other, while saying what you want him to say. If anything. So it is easy to print in large clear printer font, and do it on parchment like a diploma. And get a leatherette or other nice diploma display folder . Ones intended for a special award, and a diploma, come with ribbons in the corners, or metallic elastic cord, so you can slip both pages in separate places. Single diploma ones, your vows would be one paragraph on top, another beneath it. Those can be embossed with whatever you want on the cover, like names. You may also want a double sided one to have your vows, and a copy if your marriage certificate, in facing pages. Up to you.
