Wedding wands, wedding yay or wedding nay?!

Juli, on August 6, 2016 at 4:05 PM Posted in Style and Décor 0 18

I saw them on Pinterest and thought it would be a great alternative to tossing flower petals, rice throwing (do people still do that?!) or anything that can be thrown to make a mess lol.

I was trying to find something fun for our guests to be involved when we are pronounced husband and wife. I ran the idea across FH and he thought it was silly and said they look like cat toys. Which, they sort of do hahaha but anyways, as a guest would be like "wtf is this?!" Or would you wave them and have fun??

I used them, due to venue restrictions. They were fine

Cute! Our venue doesn't allow anything to be thrown, or blown (bubbles) so this is a great idea! might have to use this!

I'm not sure if our venue has any restrictions, but, i'd hate for the floor to look like a mess if there's confetti or stuff of the like.

I think they're really cute, even though, my cats would really enjoy them too xD

Some I saw on Pinterest had little jingle bells attached. I'm not sure if I would add that lol

    ETA: I can't type haha

We did little flags. We put out a sign to explain and it worked out well. The kids in attendance loved them. Also, many ended up stuck in our centerpieces at the reception, so be prepared for that.

Ours doesn't allow stuff to be thrown either. I opted for glow sticks.

I think it's a good idea, especially if your venue does have restrictions.

I have that same inspiration pin too! I've pretty much decided to go with the wands too. But what I can't decide is should we use them at the first kiss/end of ceremony or as our grand exit OR both????

My mom had to have them for my sister's wedding. Hardly anyone used them Smiley sad maybe attach a sign/note to them? I actually DID end up bringing it home and using it as a cat toy...

I think attaching a little tag to the wands at the table would help Smiley smile

I attended a wedding that used similar during the couples exit at the end of the night. Everyone joined in and the pictures were fantastic!

At first glance I thought you were having a Harry Potter themed wedding (I am a HP nerd!) haha! Anyway though, those are totally cute! Not something I've seen before, love unique things!

Oh man! I wish! I've seen some epic Harry Potter weddings on Pinterest that look way legit. I think I'm going to use them, even if FH thinks they're cat toys hahahah

I had them at mine in those exact colors!!! Loved them. We had people use them when we kissed and exited ceremony. I had them displayed with a sign that said "take a wand and wave it high as the new me and Mrs pass you by". I also had them laid on the ground for the bridal party so they can wave them when we kissed and other people would get the hint lol
