Wedding Website - Zola or The Knot

V, on October 1, 2019 at 6:33 PM Posted in Community Conversations 0 6
So I’m sure anyone can agree, the amount of wedding resources is overwhelming !
I’m torn between using Zola or The Knot for my wedding website. Whichever one I choose , I will be using for RSVPs/ importing a guest list, as well as a registry.

Can you ladies please share your experience with both/ which you would recommend ?

some key points;

-I already have a pretty extensive guest list on excel that I would be importing. I am not looking to manually enter guests into the website.

- I would prefer a website where I can create a registry with multiple stores/websites and add them to the wedding website (the knot seems to have this feature, and as far as I can tell, Zola seems to only allow you to add items you can order from their website - please correct me if I’m wrong on this)

- Finally - RSVPs; I have decided to do them completely only online , so I will need the website to be completely reliable in this area. Is the RSVP option on both sites customizable? For example , adding names for plus ones?

thanks for your help!

    We used Zola and love it. RSVP is customizable. You won’t be able to upload your exact excel (you have to use their template) but copying mine over wasn’t bad at all.

    Ok thank you! I don’t have a problem using their template for the website, as long as I can import an excel sheet in, rather than manually enter all of my guests.
    The excel sheet I have now has separate columns for name/address/state/city/zip.
    Is this similar to the way the Zola template is formatted ?

    My nephew used Zola for their website and online RSVP’s. I could type in any name and see who was and wasn’t invited as well as whether or not they were coming. For example, if I typed in my last name, I could see all my relatives with the same name. I thought that was weird, although my boss and I had a good time one day during lunch seeing who was invited (my nephew married her niece - small world!). Maybe there was a user setting that could have prevented that 🤷🏻‍♀️

    Yep! You also have to separate our first and last name in different columns.

    I like the idea of using the same template as our invites as a website, but does minted have online RSVP? I am doing the same thing as OP to save on postage (and to make sure people actually RSVP and don't write in names).
