Thoughts on having a wedding website? Is it helpful for guests or not necessary?

I think they are very helpful. We put all of our wedding information, including lodging, on ours and attached our registries to it. It was convenient for our guests to have everything in one place.

Both. They are helpful, but not a necessity. Whether or not guests will use it really depends a lot on your wedding. For example, if you're having a destination wedding, reserving a hotel block, doing online RSVPs, and/or providing transportation, guests are much more likely to check the website. If you're having a local wedding and guests are mailing in RSVPs, there's less of a reason for them to look.

Not necessary but definitely a really helpful tool, for both you and guests. There will be less you have to include when you send out invites or just something they can refer back to if they aren't home, lose their details card, etc. Plus you can include stuff you wouldn't typically put in your stationary.

Thank you! I am going back and forth because a lot of our guests are coming from out of town but are also older so I’m not sure if they would actually use the website

I think they're helpful, especially for weddings held during COVID. Guests check the website for info on restrictions/precautions to be taken. And in general/non-COVID times, the website is useful for letting guests RSVP online, hotel block info, ceremony/reception addresses, etc.

    Not necessary but definitely helpful.

We made one through Zola and have all three of our registries on their (zola, crate & barrel, target). We also have pages where our guests can RSVP, look at a few of our engagement photos, find accommodations, FAQs, and other wedding details.

    I highly recommend having one!

I created mine and not too many people take a look at it. I feel like they hold a lot of good information, but sometimes the hard part is getting people to go to them!

They're typically free, so you're not losing anything except a little bit of time even if no one uses it. I say go for it.

Agreed, I'm having mine in town and people haven't really cared too much to look at mine.

Very helpful, but not necessary. It is one location that provides all of the information that your guests will need.

I think that it can be helpful for guests. I opted out of it since we are having a tiny wedding

They are not required but they are very helpful with keeping a ton of information in one place that is usually spread by word of mouth and thus not included in invites. They are a very new concept and many people are not familiar with them

Absolutely make one! We received a STD for a wedding without a website last year - with COVID changing plans and locations for the wedding we had to reach out directly to the bride and groom and their families even to get basic information. Finding their registries was also tough, so the rest of my family just bought them random things.
Your guests may not look at a website until the week/day of the wedding- BUT much better to give your guests that option rather than call you during crunch time!

We are using Zola for ours. That's where we have the page to our hotel block, information about the wedding, our registry etc

We have one that we put lodging, food options, registry, RSVPs etc. We’re still sending paper invitations with RSVPs though.
