Wedding Website

Hey everyone!

Out of curiosity what all do you guys have on your wedding sites? Are they simple and functional or with lots of details? I guess I would like to know if it is appropriate or if anyone has included on their site dress codes, plus-ones, etc?

Thanks Tiff

My website has a page for accommodations, a page for our wedding party, a page for our registry, and an FAQ page. On the FAQ page we put questions about parking, our unplugged ceremony, children, RSVP deadline, and attire. I'm not sure what you would need to put about plus ones, but mentioning clothing is acceptable.

    Hey Caytlyn,

Thanks for your input! I like the FAQ thought. Did you do your page with wedding wire?

We are planning a destination wedding so ours is pretty detailed. It has a page for accommodates/flights, highlights/things to do in the area, schedule of events for the wedding weekend, photo gallery, FAQ, and RSVP! We are not doing a registry or asking for gifts due to it being a destination wedding (but that is noted in the FAQ section)

I had so many details aha. i had one page for about our love story, one for about the wedding party, one for rsvp, one for faqs, one that was translated into my home language, one for honeymoon registry, and we had a section just as an online guest book, and one of photo albums of engagement shoot and photos of us as a couple

We used The Knot and had a very detailed site. It had our two hotel blocks, and two more hotel options, both airport options, our full wedding party (with bios for each), a way to RSVP, an FAQ page with 10 or so questions, wedding information (attire, time, location, etc.) and a few extra notes.

I am using Minted (mine isn't finished yet because we haven't done engagement pics, but I thought I'd get a head start). I was searching on Reddit about what to put on our site and I really love having a FAQ page answering commonly asked questions such as if guests can bring a plus one, the dress code and if children are invited. I can PM you a link to my unfinished page if you wish!

    Hey MrsD

Good idea on airport info! I haven't done my hotel accommodations yet. We are almost at a year mark, so when did you guys book your hotel blocks?

The hotels we reached out to wouldn't do them more than a year out, so we did them almost exactly 1 year out. We did two blocks, our main one with Marriott & a cheaper one with Days Inn.

Oh okay. Well we are undecided if we will pay for these accommodations or have guests pay. Also, do they just hold it on a credit card until check out or did you guys have to put an amount down?

Everyone invited to my wedding was invited with Plus ones or their SOs by name and we don't have a dress code perse so I omitted the FAQ page but thats where that information would go. I included all wedding details such as transportation and venue and what not and how we met, the proposal, suggested pack list, RSVP section, song request section and photos section. Pretty simple.

It depends on the hotel. We did two complimentary blocks. So they each had 15 rooms, and they added rooms 5 at a time at the same rate as our block filled as long as the rooms were still available in the hotel. 1 month prior, the rooms were released back into the hotel for normal booking. I've never heard of the bride & groom paying for guest accommodations but that would be a super nice gesture for sure!

Oh okay Smiley smile well I didn't think we paid but wasn't sure, so thanks for your opinion. I guess I will just have to make phone calls then like you said depends on hotel. Thank you so much girlie!

I'm using Wix for our website. I added a Local Activities page so our guests will know what's around the area to do (suggested, not mandatory). I also have an Accommodations page where it lists the 2 hotels I did a hotel block at with the price, contact info, rules and instructions on how to book for each. Something such as a dress code can be added on the invite and plus ones can be stated on the invitation envelope.

    Hey Cassi!

Okay on plus-one what about kids?? So if say a couple has 1 or 2 children we are fine with that whether they come or not but how do you state it where they are not bringing the children's best friend or their little nephew etc. We cannot accommodate tons of children lol. My fiance has a 6 year old and we have some teenagers that will be present so we kind of want some children just not plus 5 if that makes sense.
