Wedding Welcome Sign anyone?

SimpleSeamstress, on May 19, 2015 at 8:31 PM Posted in Style and Décor 0 17

Is anyone doing (or did) a wedding welcome sign at the entrance to their ceremony? I kind of want one, but am starting to think that it's pretty extraneous after visiting Kinko's today and finding out how much it would cost to get the size that I was thinking printed. Waste of money? What would you do with it afterwards?

You definitely done NEED it. It's an extra expense. They are cute though.

If you did want it., you could frame it afterwards as part of any wedding keepsakes you have.

@714 that's a good idea. I was considering the slightly smaller 18" by 24" and then framing it later (I couldn't imagine having a huge poster about my wedding on my wall). It really wouldn't be missed though.

I was going to purchase a nice chalkboard and write on that for our entrance sign! Something similar to things I've seen on Pinterest.

I love these! Have also been considering getting one. Not sure what Kinko's prices are, but you can also get wooden ones from Etsy.

I wanted to have the ETSY gal that did the design for my STDs design me a welcome sign with the same overall design. It really isn't that necessary but I really loved the design and wanted to work it into my wedding day decor.

We are doing a chalkboard, but you can get a poster print via Zazzle and mount it on a foam board from Dollar Tree.

We're doing one as a program instead of printed programs.

For my STDs I ordered this other design for the backside and had one side in Spanish and one in English since we needed both languages. I got them printed at Zazzle and really loved how they turned out.

@Monica Thanks for the idea!! I'm going to look on Zazzle right now.

You can go to hobby lobby and buy a canvas and paint, if you have a talent friend or family that can draw. I'm doing a sign As two families become one.....etc because we're not having ushers.

@MrsA2B below is a photo I took of the price list. $84.99 for the size I was thinking. That would be to have it made up. I would also need to pay $15 for the design.

I am going with Monica's idea. Way more affordable to get a poster made on Zazzle then mount it on something stiff (foam board I'm thinking, that's what the Kinko's poster signs were like)

They are stunning, but I don't think that I could justify that. I know that I wouldn't reuse it so it would seem like a waste of money to me.

I love the pics you posted. We are doing one because our venue is going to have at least 1 sign if not two that will say weddin with an arrow, but if we want it customized and or personalized we need to provide it so that's what we will do. I don't want just a plain generic sign. Thanks for the inspiration! It may be less expensive to print at cvs or Walgreens or Vista print with a coupon

I am, but it will be free, besides the cost of some chalk...lol! We are borrowing a friend's chalk board, and doing a welcome message on that! =) They make some pretty neat stencils, so I'm excited to draw it up! =)
