Wedding with a talent show?

Sometimes when we have a sucky obligation we get through it by scheduling a stop for a treat on the way home. Motorcycle=banana split. Car=adult beverage. Having something to look forward to helps!

No cell phones are allowed? Are they allowed to have a photographer or videographer? Seriously though, that would make for some great blackmail if people participated...

I have to say I am really diggin the bra that can hold liquor in the cups.. Don't worry everyone, I WILL get pictures and/or video.. the site also added that since they have had such great feedback about the talent show... they are going to hold auditions and not everyone will get to participate....

This is the dumbest f-ing idea I've ever seen for a wedding. I'm usually not so judgmental, but WTF? Who would want to participate in this? It's like doing karaoke sober. No one does that. Sneak a cell phone in too - no one will check your bag, and you must get video!

I second the bra flask, although I can sneak a flask into anywhere. My boobs are too big to wear a bra flask anyway!

Ok. Wait. First of all they are asking people to participate in a talent show while sober. Second. People have to audition and might not get to do it?

Although I don't drink, myself, I think in this instance you should get good and hammered before you go, then bring a flask to keep the buzz on. Good luck

This isn't the same wedding that someone else was posting about with the GoFundMe site, and self catered, and texts of the invite, is it? Maybe the brides are sisters....

Haha I don't think it's the same? We did get an actual invite--but I think they are doing self-catering... I heard it is going to be a Mexican-style picnic. I will need at least 5 tacos and a handle of tequila to get through this.

First a talent show, and then auditions? I'm just floored. Isn't the main reason things like karaoke are fun is the alcohol? I know that is the only time I consider karaoke.

I have to confess, I'm torn between extreme sympathy for you....and GLEE for the post-wedding recap. I'm sorry, I'm a horrible person. I can't WAIT to see how this goes down. (Side note: do they think people will actually audition?!)

Are they doing a talent show to save money not getting a DJ? I'm sure the guests will never notice the difference... I feel like you can't not go to this and come back with a full report.

Haha I don't know if they are trying to save money on a DJ.. I mean I thought about it myself for a hot second.. but even then technology is amazing and so are iPods. I just hope there is popcorn there...

I'm mostly curious how the auditions will be held. Like do guests come the day before and audition? Do they have to step out during dinner and audition? Is this an all day thing where auditions are in the morning and then the chosen few get to perform in the afternoon/evening?

Also...are you supposed to leave your phone at home? Can it be in your car? That sounds like a normal rule for a camp/summer camp but um...you are not campers. Do they take your phone if they see it?
