In my opinion, you can put anything you want on the registry!

I disagree. I think it's very tacky to put items to be used for the wedding on your registry. Also, there aren't separate registries for shower and wedding.

Upgrades. New towels, sheets. What about stuff you'd never consider buying yourself like a wine cooler or a towel warmer.

How old is your microwave, toaster?

New bathroom accessories like a new shower curtain, soap dish, tumbler?

Drink coffee? What about a Keurig machine?

Drink tea? What about an automatic teapot?

Closet hangers need updating? Add some wooden hangers.

FH has a tool kit?? Add a new drill or drill bits.

Love decorating? Add some new pillows, curtains. How about a new coffee table, end table, night stands.

    How's all that?

People are going to GIFT you things. Get what you'd never buy for yourself or things you need replaced!!!

@lindsey , yeah thats what i thought! But it wouldnt be a registry for the wedding it'll perhaps just be a registry for my bridal shower None the less all my girls are telling and encouraging me to make one for them

@gymrat Whoa! Lol yes you are right in many but as i read the question marks i probably answered straight, 3/4 out of those as yes. We have alot of all, and for about 120 guests that just will be wayyyy too many curtains, comforters and sheets perhaps a few appliances yes but the ones needed the most We own! But Thanks I will definitely consider maybe creating small one then.

It would automatically just be a registry for both. But decor items for the wedding are inappropriate. All of GymRat's suggestions are perfect!

No no no. You're not going to add 10 curtains and pillows. You will add maybe one or two. It doesn't have to be a lot. Consider registering at different places too like Home Depot (want a ceiling fan?), Amazon, etc. When stuff runs out maybe folks will just get you a gift card instead.

And I will have 140 guests - doesn't matter. At the wedding guests typically bring cash/ checks in an envelope, not a physical gift.

And you wouldn't be inviting all the guests to your bridal shower. Only those close to you.

    Hope that helps.

China. Stemware. Nice flatware. Beautiful table linens. Awesome kitchen appliances. Cookbooks. Casual dishes. New bedding. Vacuum cleaner. Carpet shampooing machine. Stuff to outfit your house.

Yeah... Don't add wedding decor and what not to your registry. It's supposed to be stuff for your marriage and "new" home together, not your party.

I think the cake cutter and toasting glasses are fine---I've seen a lot of people put those on the registry. I didn't put these on the registry and ended up with 3 champagne flutes though...

I agree about not putting your cake topper, card box, robe, etc. You should be putting items for your home.

As others have said, it will be for shower and wedding, unless you deactivate for the wedding. And most places offer registry fulfillment discounts within X number of months of your wedding. So, if you really want something that is pricey and no one buys you, use gift cards and the fulfillment discount.

Just to clarify on the wedding-related items... We registered for champagne flutes and a cake serving set and received both at our shower. I think those two wedding items are perfectly acceptable for a registry.

I don't know if you understood how registries work before you posted this. There will be a list of exact items that you pic out with a quantity next to it (we want one of this Vitamix blender, we want 4 of these towels in this color). People will choose items to purchase as wedding gifts which you may receive at the shower or the wedding itself. Once the registry runs out, you may receive a gift card or simply cash. All making a registry does is guide your guests on what you'd like and prevent duplicate gifts. There are plenty of lists online to get you started as well as some alternative ideas as well. Good luck!

You could always ask close family to get you those things. So you get what you want but don't have to put it on the registry. I know my mom and my sisters wouldn't judge me for wanting to get those items.

You could put the cake set and champagne flutes on the registry then take them off after the shower. I don't think your card box or robe or anything like that belong there though. I agree with creating a registry with upgrades of things you have, as well as things you want but would probably not buy for yourself. We did a small registry, but honestly, the people who gave us anything, gave us money or gift cards.

I think wedding items you will use after the wedding (flutes and a cake cutter) are alright but wedding specific items are no and personal items (like the robe) are a HUGE no.
