Wedding/Reception signs

Chrissy, on May 8, 2015 at 10:27 AM Posted in Do It Yourself 0 23

I'm trying to figure out what little signs I need at the wedding. I've thought of sign my guestbook and menu/bar signs, but are there any else I should make? I don't want to be missing any. Can you show me what signs you have all made so I can get some ideas? Even the non-informative ones like bride and groom. Thanks for your help!

My only suggestion is not to go overboard, not everything needs a sign despite what pinterest says. I did a guestbook sign and a bar menu, everything else seemed rather self explanatory

We made little signs in English, Italian and Polish for the guestbook (ours was a frame) as you mentioned, the candy buffet and the placecards/favors.

I had so much signage planned and nixed most of it....it is a waste of money. People will not notice the excessive signage that you spend money on.

We have a "Please find the key to your seat" sign. "Her Prince" "His Princess" for our chairs thanks to Pinterest lol. "Meet the Maids & Meet the Men" cause we're displaying photos of each person in our Bridal Party with a little blurb about each of them. That's about it, I think.

I asked FH what signs we needed and his response was that everyone is an adult and will know what to do. Lol. So we aren't having signs. Only one is a wooden arrow pointing to my parents house that says wedding.

I have one for the photobooth that says something like choose a prop and strike a pose. I did that more for the older people that may have been iffy on what to do since its a newer thing in the last couple years. We also have one for the ceremony that says choose a seat not a side we are all family once the knot is tied. Neither of our families are large and our Mom's have become friends so they wanted to sit together so I figured let people sit where they want.

I have a ton of frames that I bought at a yard sale and I'm just going to print them. I'm not too worried about cost. I will probably have a few quotes printed in some and posted around too. im really looking to use them as decor too because I'm cheap and have very little decor. I will definitely have one with Dr.Seuss's mutual weirdness quote. There's one ill have to find that i wanted to use but i wanted to make sure its not too tacky since it's for the gift table and apparently its bad to make it look like your asking for gifts... but it has yoda on it so I might make a tacky exception. lol Ill find it and post it in a bit.

I'm doing a wedding sign so people can see where the Gazebo is as they pass. A parking sign so they know the closest place to park. A reception sign so they know which direction to walk from the gazebo to the ballroom. No signs other than those 3.

I'm shuttling my guests so I will definitely have directional arrows of where to go when they get off the bus.

I'm going to have a large "sign" as my program, the ring bearer is going to carry a sign instead of the rings, I'll have a menu sign at the beginning of the buffet table, and if we do a candy buffet and/or photo booth, there will be signs there. And of course, a sign for the guestbook (if I ever figure out what to do for that).

I'm in the same boat. I know ill have a sign for the guestbook but i have no clue what my guestbook will be. I should do a program sign since I'm not having programs. Should there be something with all the BP names on it?

We are putting an arrow that says wedding at the entrance to the golf course, one arrow pointing towards the ceremony that says ceremony and one pointing towards reception with reception. We have a "please take a koozie" favor sign, a guest book sign, and a bar sign. One that I really wanted to do was a chalkboard one for the bar that said "Of course you can dance -signed Vodka"

Less is more! I'm simplifying everything. We might make a sign for our guestbook, that's about it. But people generally know what to do with a guestbook, so we might just ask our planner to make sure people are signing it during cocktail hour.

I am just having signs for the guest book (fingerprint tree) and our specialty cocktail drinks at the bar. I'm not big into signs, and I'm only using them where necessary.

We had signs for the obvious like "gifts" "guestbook" "bar" & "menu". I had also found some cute ones that we used for decoration around the tables like "Mr & Mrs" "Today I married my best friend" etc.

I had planned on doing a s'mores menu, a program window, and like 10 more signs but decided not to. (AKA I procrastinated and ran out of time) so if you have the time, do them. They're cute personal touches but no one will know they're missing if they aren't there.
