Yes! We will have ours at our church. Thing is though I HATE the idea of getting married in the main sanctuary because it's so dark (no natural light, very modern church). So we'll be having the ceremony and reception in the "community hall" which is really the kid's sanctuary room (they're remodeling it right now which is amazing timing). Planning on theater style seating so we don't have to flip it. We also have a lot of out of town guests coming in and it really does make sense to have it all in one place.

We're having our ceremony and reception at the same venue. We're getting married at golf course- the ceremony will be in the great hall and guests will be moved to the lounge for cocktail hour while the room is being flipped for the reception. This is great for our out-of-towners. I would feel terrible if someone got lost.

We are having ours at a golf course and if the weather is not favorable in Feb then the ceremony and reception will both be in the same building. After the ceremony the guests will spend cocktail our in the bar area while the ceremony space is converted into the reception. I'm nervous about it but the coordinator has assured me it is fine, they do his all the time.

UPDATE; I finally got my FH to agree to having them both at the same venue. It makes sense because we have our venue for 10 hours so we should at least get our monies worth!

Are they going to perform your ceremony together? Will they trade off sections of the ceremony?

Our wedding and reception will be at the same location. I've been to weddings where they were in different locations and wasn't a fan.

If they were close in location and wasn't to much time between I didn't mind as much. We have several guests coming from out of start and from across the state and I think it makes more sense for them to not have to drive all over

We are! We will be getting married outside (weather permitting) on the terrace area with reception to follow inside!

We are having both in the same venue. We are getting married in the church chapel then turning around, going across the hall into the reception room. It is going to make everything so much easier IMO

We are having everything at one place. It is easier to do especially if you have guest that are out of town.

    Laura,

I am from the downriver area as well and we are having a hard time finding locations for the ceremony. Would you be willing to share the location names that will do a ceremony without taking the classes. My daughter has the same timing issue. Fuller Photography is who is doing the photos for my daughter as well. Our budget isn't too tight but paying almost 1500 for the chapel at Heritage Park is ridiculous. Any help in ceremony locations I would greatly appreciate.

    Thank you

Anne from Fuller Photography is one of my best friends, and she did a great job for my wedding, the sneak peak pics were AMAZING.

We had our wedding and reception at the Woodhaven Community Center. We had it for 10 hours and it was only 275! You have to set up and clean up, you can bring in your own food and drink, just no food made at home. You also have to live in Woodhaven for it, but there are other cities that you can rent the community centers and not live there. We looked into VFW halls, UAW halls, Elks clubs...and were very affordable. Another one is Grafton Hall in Carleton. It's al all inclusive venue, with the cake, the DJ, food, etc. I don't remember the price, but we very went with them. There is also The Allen Road Banquet hall. I believe it was about 400 dollars
