Weddings bring out the worst in people?

Wedding, on May 18, 2018 at 1:17 PM Posted in Family and Relationships 0 3

Does anyone feel that way. I am trying to stay calm but my anxiety is off the roof. First my BM trying getting out of the wedding because she said she can't afford it *yet she was taking a vacation *, she finally felt guilty and realized it;s too late and is back in.

I recently tried organizing a family brunch for my family and FH's as they are from two different places and haven't met ( it's a destination wedding) his moom basically said she doesn't want to as she doesn't want to see FH'S dad as they are divorced?

I don't understand? am I wrong should people not put their differences aside. it's already hard enough that we aren't doing parents' entrance for ceremony and reception for that reason. my parents wanted to be added to ceremony and I had to compromise and tell them no as his parents refuse to do it. and now this.

Hello! Weddings can definitely be difficult when individuals refuse to coexist and unite. I'm sorry you're experiencing these issues. I would try meeting with everyone and express to them how much you value their cooperation and desire to see everyone collaborating. I know it might be difficult, but communication is ideally the best way to resolve disagreements and differences.

I hope you're able to work things out. Don't let it stress you; relax!

    Good luck!

Organize the brunch, invite them both. If FMIL throws a fit say you’ll miss her, and leave it at that. If she can’t act like an adult, you shouldn’t have to arrange your plans around this woman-child.

Have the brunch, invite all parties. If they act like four year olds....oh well. See you another time!
