I’m walking to Sam Ryder Set You Free. My fiancé just wants a guitar melody- we found it on YouTube by putting in wedding procession in the search grid. There’s a ton! As far as the reception- you know your crowd. We’re not playing songs with words, just background music.

So these are the song my fiancé and I choose, they definitely lean into folk and pop/rock.

While people are taking their seats: “ Over the Rainbow” by Israel Kamakawiwo
Processional and Bridal Walk: Wildest Dreams by Duomu
Recessional: “You Are the Best Thing” by Ray LaMontagne

Getting announced at the reception: “Shut Up and Dance” by Walk the Moon

First Dance: “Hold You in My Arms” by Ray LaMontagne

Father Daughter Dance: “What A Wonderful World” by Louis Armstrong

The rest of the song you can have your DJ pick if you’re having a DJ. Make a playlist on Spotify you can share with them with songs you really like that make you want to get up and dance, along with some songs you like to slow dance too. Also think about any song you absolutely don’t want played like the Chicken Dance or something or if you don’t like curse words and want them to stick with the radio versions of songs. Hope that helps!

It will take a little time for guests to get to our ceremony, so we are having some of our favorites played while people are getting to the site: ho hey - lumineers, is this love - bob marley, home - Edward sharpe and the magnetic zeros, to build a home- cinematic orchestra, home - Phillip Phillips, 2am - slightly stopped, etc but these are more of our favorites as much as love songs per say
Processional: send me on my way - gut meets girl
Bride walking down the aisle: can’t help falling in love - Haley reinhart Exit - volaré- gypsy kings
Cocktail hour is a mix of Beatles, country, etc and my cousins are going to play for some of it, they r very talented musicians
Walking into reception: September - Earth Wind and Fire & come and get your love - red boneFH and I walking in to the end of stole the show - kygoFirst dance: I don’t dance - lee BriceFather daughter: dance with my daughter - Jason BlaineMother son: you’re gonna be - Reba Then I’m going to dance w my mom after dinner to mother like mine by the band perry which imo is a beautiful song for a mother Dance music is gonna include a little bit of everything: classic rock, pop, country, r&b, 90s and throwbacks, typically wedding songs, Motown, even some edm haha our dj has an app we can make playlists of songs we want as well as allow guests to request through the app beforehand .. I think out of all the wedding planning the most time we’ve put into so far has been music surrounding the day haha

We're doing things a smidge different as FH and I are huge Pop/Punk Fans and most of our guests (outside of our bridal party) are not, so we're trying to sneak in songs we LOVE where guests don't REALLY have to listen to them.

Processional: We haven't settled on an actual song yet, but we know its going to be a cover of a song from Falling In Reverse by the Piano Dreamers.

Bride Walk: A cover of Love Her by the Jonas Brothers also from the Piano Dreamers

Recessional: We're still trying to figure this one out.

Reception Parents Entrance: Also still trying to figure this one out, I'm leaning on my mom for advice on this one.

Reception Bridal Party Entrance: Chop Suey! By System of A Down

Reception Bride and Groom Entrance: The Downfall of Us All by A Day to Remember

Mother Son Dance: We're still waiting on FH mom to pick a song for this, he doesn't want to pick a song as he doesn't even want to do the dance.

Father Daughter Dance: My dad wont pick a song (well he did but my mom shakes her head every time we suggest it lol) so I'm trying to find a song but I do know whatever we choose I'm going to have it cut to Whomp! There it is by tag team, cause my dad LOVES the progressive commercial with it and wants to actually to dance to it, so I wanna surprise him with it.

Cocktail hour music we're going to leave up to our DJ as well as dinner music but FH wants All Frank Sinatra during dinner lol

Dance Music is going to be a little bit of everything, 90's/00's throwbacks, classic rock, pop hits, some oldies. We gave our DJ some must play songs for the reception but ultimately I think we're gonna leave it up to him, since if we picked the music we actually wanted to no one would have a good time lol.

Our DJ also had us pick a Final Ballad to be played 15 minutes before the end of the reception so I chose When You Look Me In The Eyes by the Jonas Brothers, and two finale songs, one of which is Can't Smile Without You by Barry Mainlow.

Choosing music for everything the DJ asked us to is slowly killing me lol

Most of the music for my wedding hasn't been picked out yet with the exception of out pre-ceremony music. That will be the main theme song of our favorite movies. Harry Potter, Jurassic Park, Lord of the Rings, etc. All instrumentals though.
Only other thing picked out is the song I'm walking down the aisle to. A Thousand Years by The Piano Guys
