Have kids at home etc. How do I go about eating healthier and working on my weight. I seem to have 0 self control. Smiley sad I have tried almost every weight loss routine you can think of. I need some insight on what kinda diet/ work out plan could help. I am SO bad at meal prepping. I never know what to eat or what is healthy etc.. Sooo any and all examples would be fantastic! Plus extra support is never a bad thing either!

I'm not a fan of fad diets aka cutting out a whole food group or drinking shakes... are these things truly sustainable for long term results?

I've lost over 60 lbs since January and my goal is to lose at least another 30 lbs in the next 6 months now that my weight loss has slowed down. What works for me is "calories in calories out" method aka portion control and exercise. I track calories on the MyFitnessPal app which is free and track calories burned by my Fitbit. This allows me to still have ice cream if I "earn" it by expending enough calories. This was extremely helpful in the beginning when trying to change my eating habits and fight cravings. I'm a binge eater and still struggle at times.

Is it annoying to track all calories at first? Yep, but eventually it's something you do just like anything else during the day and I've learned portion sizes for the most part where I could eye most meals.

Most importantly... you don't have to be perfect. I've tried to lose weight so many times before and would give up after one bad meal, one missed workout, etc. I am NOT perfect but I'm on the right track 90% plus of the time and that has yielded great results!

Believe it or not, Instagram's weight loss community is AWESOME and has been a huge support for me in terms of accountability and motivation.

    You CAN DO THIS!!!

ETA/ Willing to be your accountability partner if you want no matter what route you choose! Smiley smile

Melinda W. Thank you so much for that! I just need to figure out how to make better choices and stay on track. Everything you just said, sounds just like me! I need to get this down!! And no shakes and such are never a life time thing. I think that's why I cannot stick with it.

You're welcome! I can also relate to feeling like you don't have the time to workout with a job, kids, etc. I'm not sure how old your little ones are but my son has noticed all the efforts I've made to workout will join me for walks, point out if I haven't worked out, ask if I tracked the donut hole I ate, etc. It's hard taking time away from your family but you need to do be the healthiest version of you! The calories in calories out method has helped me stay accountable with workouts. It's easier to workout some days knowing I will have enough calories after dinner for another snack on those days where cravings are out of control!

My kids definitely do that already too. My daughter is 7. And she likes to work out with me when I do it as well. I'm going to give it a try. Hopefully it helps.

I don't currently have any advice but if you need a friend for your weight loss journey I'd love to join you. We are getting married 03/16/2018 and I have an 8-5 job with a 30 minute commute as well. Along with twin 2 year old boys so I'm lost trying to find a balance between work/exercise/healthy eating. I believe having a friend with me to swap recipes.. maybe schedule a work out video where we both start at the same time.. anything haha! I don't have Facebook so it's super hard for me to find a weight loss buddy! But if anyone is looking for that kind of friendship/accountability partner message me anytime Smiley smile

    Visit www.ketochow.xyz and read up!

This makes Keto easy to do, because it's ideal for people like us who don't have a lot of time for meal prep. (My work commute is 1 hour each way, so I know the struggle all too well.) The Ketogenic diet is what my brother did to lose 150 lbs! I started it, using Keto Chow from the link above, last Wednesday and I've lost 4-5 lbs and haven't worked out at all.

I do weight watchers and I absolutely love it! I go to meetings to be accountable and weigh in each week. It's 44.95 but you can normally find promotions each month! You can always Check out one WW meeting for free! It has worked best for me! I have lost 52.6 pounds since 8/2016!! I really focused on eating and then threw in 3days of activities a week!
