Ok, let me preface this by saying you dont HAVE to lose 50lbs...he proposed to you as you were and therefore loves you as you are. With that said, we are our own harshest critic and I understand your desire to want to shed some pounds before your big day (so do i). I joined weight watchers and have seen the results in others, but have been told, the heavier you are the faster you lose...so I have not been seeing huge results. But choose healthy options and up your exercise regimen.

    Good luck and CONGRATS!!!!

I agree with Sabrina...he loves you for you, just the way you are.

That said, I’ve started walking 30 minutes per day, 5 days per week. I want to lose 20 pounds by my wedding.

Girl I STILL can't believe he proposed, and I've been married for two months!!

Don't stress over the losing weight, he proposed to you exactly as you are! I know we all want to look our absolute best on our big day, but the main thing is making sure you end the day married. Congratulations!!

I found that keeping a food journal helped, even though I didn't show it to anyone it would make me consider what I was eating because I didn't really want to write 3 chocolate cupcakes Smiley xd

YES. I literally still think hes up to something all the time. I ask him why the heck would you marry me I am anxiety filled train wreck!. lol but regards to the weight loss. YOU CAN DO IT. literally lost 50 pounds from Jan 2019 to this Saturday when I weighed in. Weight loss journey is learning your relationship with food and the scale and also water weight and muscle mass.

A year is a ton of time, it's great you are starting now! I took a few months to lose 15 lbs and a ton of it was diet related. I cut out desserts, soda, and coffee creamer. I really enjoyed HIIT classes, so I did those twice a week at a local gym then used the Tone It Up app the other 3 days for at home workouts. I walked at least 3 miles every weekend. I probably wouldn't set a for sure loss of 50 lbs, I'd just start eating healthy & working out until you feel like you are healthy and in a good place.

Idk about 50lbs, but I did lose 15lbs in 2 months just from changing my diet. I stopped putting cream/sugar in my coffee, gave up sodas, started meal prepping and cooking at home instead of going-out, and lots of water. I've always been an active person so I didn't think my exercises was my issue, but I did change up my workout routines to help assist with my weight loss. I have 31 more days until the big day and hoping to lose another 6lbs.

I ask my FH everyday “you want to marry me?” Lol. I’m not a big girl but I’m bigger than what I’m comfortable with. I don’t feel sexy whatsoever. He tells me I’m beautiful everyday.

I’m a Pepsi girl, late eater, love soft cookies and brownies and hate working out. But, lately I try to eat before 8pm, cut back on my snacks and trade them in for fruits and FH & I go to the gym.

No need to diet but just be conscious of your eating patterns and how it influences your weight. I definitely would encourage going to the gym too.

But, I do know that weight is never necessarily the issue. The confidence and esteem has to be there whether you are 200+ or 130. You know? Cause my weight fluctuates more than I wish. Even at my smallest, I still feel like I can’t compete with the Beyoncé’s of the world. So, I defer let encourage learning to love you more deeply despite your weight. I’m trying. We’re in this together, sis! I wish you the best and YES, he wants to marry YOU!!

Brandi- love your comments!!! I definitely need to be more confident, but am really struggling! Jasmine- it’s great your fiancé is so supportive!! My fiancé and I gained a lot of weight after he had knee surgery in 2017...he gained 50 pounds and lost muscle from not walking, and I gained 8-10 pounds sitting on the couch with him so much! This February when we were both at our heaviest and could barely fit into our clothes anymore we both decided to diet. My weight loss has been super slow- down like 9 pounds, though I think I have gained muscle. HE HAS LOST MORE THAN 50!! AND he lost 40 pounds before he even proposed in May. I am basically spending all my money on a trainer (have been since last November) and while I’m in better shape, I cannot seem to lose weight! I’ve counted calories for 2 years and done “Noom” which worked for my fiancé and not for me. I am so frustrated because I want to lose weight for me and not for the wedding, but now I do have this added pressure because I just want to feel like myself at the wedding. Not to mention, I’m 2 inches taller than my fiancé and he used to be more muscular and me a bit thinner. Now he is skinny and I feel totally self-conscious about being the plus size bride. His aunt even told me “isn’t it a shame you had to pay for extra fabric for your wedding dress since you’re bigger?” Im 6’1 and size 14 for goodness sake! I honestly would feel more confidence if not every person alive commented on how amazing my fiancé looks in front of me and nothing to me. Also, I’ve been trying to be so active that I now hurt my hip and for the last two months have been limping around. I feel like I’m working so hard for nothing. I am so frustrated.
