Ladies I would like to start by saying I am getting started on my weight loss journey by eating better and working out before my big day and I am pretty sure that some of you would like to do the same so why not do it together you have 1 splurge day and then go back at it. I will be buying my meal replacement this weekend and starting fresh Monday so starting Monday if you would like to join me then please do so i would love to have workout buddies

I noticed that if I do a "splurge day" i often undo the week's progress. So instead, I'll do a splurge "item". Sweets are my weakness, so I've cut them out entirely. Then, randomly, maybe 2x a month, FH will come home with a chocolate or something for me as a surprise

Are you going to the gym or doing home workouts? I just seem to have no energy after work most days to drag myself to the gym, but also haven't been able to find any home workouts that I like.

@MrsWalters - I've tried several Beachbody workouts (Piyo and Insanity Max30). I liked Piyo due to the low impact (I've had several surgeries on my foot over the past 2 years) but did not see any results from it. Insanity Max30 I just couldn't get into. I'd max out at like 15-20 minutes, but felt like death and couldn't bring myself to finish the rest of the workout. I would prefer to just run (I was a runner for 13 years and now coach track), but my foot is still in the healing process and tends to swell like crazy when I run.

I am planning on starting this week too so I'll join you! Also I use YouTube for at home work outs. Jessie James Decker (my absolute favorite celeb crush) has one. It's like a 30 minute video but it's only like 10 minutes of work out. But it's an intense workout I usually do it twice and I'm sore for days!

I've also been trying to get in better shape even though my wedding is still almost a year away I don't want to have to crash diet. But I can't seem to stick to healthy eating with all of the yumminess of the holidays. Any tips to stay away from hot chocolate and cookies?

I just recently started to "diet". I stopped drinking soft drinks and eating less. 10 lbs. down. I have another 50 to go. my goal weight is 150 lbs. My advice to the ladies that find it hard to say no to sweets and desserts....don't stop cold turkey, that will only make you want it more. I started off by only eating a bit or two of a cookie, or cake, or candy bar. and then leaving it alone. if you really want to fit into the dress or look amazing on your big day, you will be amazed how easy it will be. the first two weeks are the hardest, but after those weeks you will be just fine. I can now say no to just about anything and not think twice about it.

^ I second Madeline. Also if you seem to not be able to just slowly get off sweets and can't just take a bite and walk away until you no longer eat them, try distracting yourself whenever you want one. When you get that craving, go clean something or get a drink or walk or anything to take your mind off of it. You'll be surprised how much you stop eating

Also another tip to avoid sweets is to brush your teeth instead when you get the craving. Nothing tastes as good with that toothpaste taste! I've also recently done a whole30 challenge and that has really changed the way I look at food!
