Hey everyone! I'm getting married in 8 months and even though I know my fiancé loves me the way I am I am hoping to be at the weight I feel comfortable. I am hoping to lose about 35 pounds. I got my dress on sale and its hanging in my closet for motivation! It look nice on me now but I know will be amazing when I shed the pounds. I was advised they can take the dress in up to 3 sizes so that's my goal! I'm am starting a diet and excercise plan and feel I can stick too it but am looking for a support group. I'm not always the best at following through so am hoping I can post my progress and get some much needed cheerleading and motivation! Any suggestions on things that worked for anyone?

Hi Nikki, I'm in the same boat. I'm on a weight loss plan I just started a week ago Friday. I lost 4lbs! I couldn't believe it, so excited! I'm trying to lose 35-50lbs. I want to lose as much as possible by August 13th which is the date I have scheduled to try on dresses with my bridesmaids. My wedding is in April.

A weekly weigh in sounds good! I'd be in, although I won't have access to a scale until July.

@Nikki R. Congrats you have enough time and we can so motivate each other.I recently did 21 day fix and lost 10lbs. Loved it since I really hate the gym. I learned portion control so now I'm conscious of what I am eating. Goal is to total of 20lbs more by September so need to get back on track.Download my fitness pal to help you. Since you are looking to lose 35lbs I would say start with small goals then go for big ones. Maybe 1st Week set a goal of 5lbs then next week go for 10lbs etc. You can so do it.

I'm doing 21 day fix and just finished week 1. It has been great so far! I was even able to have a glass of wine on Friday because of how I juggled my containers. I feel like I'm eating more than before on it and the workouts are amazing!

OP - this sounds like a great idea. If you want to do a weekly check-in, might I advise you to change your avatar. You currently have the generic, double-ring which tends to be what spammers and trolls have. Please change it to something unique - it doesn't have to be a picture of your face or anything that says you. And then those interested in the support threads will be able to recognize you as a poster much quicker!

I use LoseIt to track everything I eat and my exercise and the accountability of seeing it in writing is so useful. I've lost 22 pounds since last November.

Also general PSA, for anyone on SSRIs, I gained 40 lbs when I started taking that med and couldn't control my eating no matter how hard I tried while I took it. I talked to my doctor and switched to an alternative, and now 22 lbs down, so if you are in a position to consider changing, it's a thought. Obviously if you need a specific med for your health, that's different.

You can do it. For me my biggest problem is stress when your stress try to find something that steer you away or keep you busy to forget about food that is only your a stress eater like me but you can do I believe everyone can find that motivation!!

I have done a plan called Take Shape for Life and it uses Medifast meals replacements as a tool. I did the program 4 years ago and lost 41 pounds in 3 months. I kept it off for a year and a half then went through some personal things, quit smoking, quit going to the gym, ate junk, and went on antidepressants and went from 131 pounds up to 191 pounds as of this January. Well, I went back on and lost 26 pounds in two months. I'm now 165 and decided to go back on as of yesterday. I'm getting married August 13th and want to lose 20 more pounds. I promise you it is easy to do, so convenient. You do not need to work out like crazy. It costs about $300 month or $10 day. That includes a health coach if you want one and there's an awesome community of support. I just joined the meltdown challenge which is a 4-week challenge for added for additional support. You can look into the challenge at www.meltdownchallenge.com. good luck! If I can do it, anyone can because I'm an addict when it comes to food and an emotional eater too!

Please change your avatar to something other than the rings (this is not the same picture as the background pic on the app). It helps you get more responses to your posts, since the ring avatar is associated with trolls. It also makes the threads easier to read.
