Hey everyone! I'm getting married in 8 months and even though I know my fiancé loves me the way I am I am hoping to be at the weight I feel comfortable. I am hoping to lose about 35 pounds. Hey everyone! I'm getting married in 8 months and even though I know my fiancé loves me the way I am I am hoping to be at the weight I feel comfortable. I am hoping to lose about 35 pounds. I got my dress on sale and its hanging in my closet for motivation! It look nice on me now but I know will be amazing when I shed the pounds. I was advised they can take the dress in up to 3 sizes so that's my goal! I'm am starting a diet and excercise plan and feel I can stick too it but am looking for a support group. I'm not always the best at following through so am hoping I can post my progress and get some much needed cheerleading and motivation! Any suggestions on things that worked for anyone?

    I'm just here to drop my two cents in...Don't forget to eat a lot of lean protein!!! So many people try to stick to just fruits and veggies. Don't deprive yourself! Have an awesome grilled chicken salad! Lean protein is the fuel your body needs, especially while working out!

    Arbonne has a 28 Day clean eating challenge. I haven't done it myself but I have seen tons of pictures of people that did it and they loved it. MyFitnessPal app can help you track your meals and calories and MapMyRun would help you track your physical activities. you can join challenges which is fun and pushes you.     I'm in...wedding in 5 months. I wanna loose 20lbs. Let's do this ladies. I'll post my weigh in weight tomorrow morning, and then let's do weekly weights.

    I'm in!! I started doing Zumba 2 days a week and strength training 2 days with cardio incorporated everyday. I've changed my eating habits and NO CARBS after 7:00 pm. I use my fitness pal to track my food and my fitbit to track my steps and compete in challenges which help keep me motivated.

    Hi @nikkiray,

    I love fitness talks! In 2010 I joined a gym (reluctantly) and in 8 months I lost 70% of my body fat. And I've kept it off. Currently at 16.4% (and I'm 45 years old). The gym and I have become great friends! ;-)

    Some tips that worked wonders for me and might help you too:

    - Do not eat carbs after 4pm unless you're going to workout at night.

    - Eat lots of lean protein: egg whites, fish, chicken, turkey.

    - Cut down on sugar.

    - Get plenty of sleep at night. Try to be in bed by 10:30, 11pm or so.

    - Walk on a treadmill uphill at an 8% incline, for 35 minutes, 4-5 times a week.

    My goals: I'm working out pretty hard these days, because it's a quiet season at work. I hope to strengthen my butt and hamstrings these next 5 months before work picks back up again in late fall!

    I saw some pics of myself yesterday -- not pretty. I need to lose 10-15. My arms are uuuuuuugggggghhhh.

    But! I'm uber watching what I eat now and joined a gym. I'm with you all!!

    I'll be following this thread and hopefully staying involved!

    I did download and start using the Lose It app. If possible, I'd like to be down 40-50 pounds by next May. I'm currently hovering around 185-187, and I was about 150-160 when I moved to TX last year.

    FH and I gotta get on the ball about eating better and actually getting to the gym.

    I'm in too! I started in March with going to the gym at least 4 times a week, watching what I'm eating, using My Fitness Pal religiously etc and I've lost around 10 pounds! I'm aiming to lose another 5-10 pounds by my wedding but I have a little less than a year to go!

    Hi @nikkiray, How's the fitness journey going? Having a good week? I met with my trainer Saturday and she kicked my butt so hard, my legs were sore for 3 days afterward! Which is a good kind of sore. It shows just how weak I've been in certain areas! Hoping to get a workout in tonight after work, so I continue to strengthen these muscles.

    I might be a little late to the party but I am 100% in on this. I feel like the big day will be here before I know it and I also feel like I haven't done enough - I'm hoping to drop another 10 lbs before October!

    I'm all for giving support, it always helps to have a buddy! Smiley smile

    I'm hoping to loose about 20 pounds. My wedding is about 11 months away, I'm staring my dress shopping at the end of next month and want to have a set dress by September. I work out 5 to 6 days a week and I am just better about my portions. I hate to limit what I eat so portion control does alot of good for me. It makes me more cautious and aware of what I eat and I get to the point where I eat alot better.

    I am in too! I have been doing the 21 day fix but i went on vacation last week and then 4th of july weekend, my eating has not been so great. So i am starting over

    I too need motivation! I've been hitting the gym HARD lifting and cardio 4-6 days a week for 6 months and haven't yet lost anything. My body is shaping differently, but I would love to reach my 30 pound goal by the wedding!
