Hi friends... So my wedding is 11 months away and I desperately want to lose weight, but I can't find the motivation. When my FH and I first met, I weighed 40 lbs less than I do now. I was hospitalized last year and was forced to take medication for which the side effects included significant weight gain. I used to be very thin and never had to watch what I ate. For some reason I feel like I NEED to get back to that weight again but I honestly don't even know where to begin. I'm so unmotivated because I feel like my goal is unattainable... Any suggestions?

I've also read and followed some other registered dieticians, who seem to echo these thoughts as well. I read the "How To Fight Fatflammation" by Lori Shemek PhD, who basically said the same thing, cut the processed/fried foods and refined grains; sugar and High Fructose Corn Syrup; and oils such as: vegetable, corn, soy, canola or safflower oil that are rich in omega 6 fat. She's all about reading the nutrition labels on everything to make sure to get rid of these from your diet. And look instead to increase your sources of inflammatory foods such as wild fatty fish like wild caught salmon and other omega-3 sources; fibrous veggies and fruits like berries, spinach and broccoli; probiotics like greek yogurt, sauerkraut, and pickles. But that strategies won't be effective unless you learn to calm your stress levels, get lots of activity in your day, and also sleep at least 7-8 hours.
