Weird wedding dreams?!

AD2AP, on February 21, 2018 at 1:07 PM Posted in Community Conversations 0 18

Has anyone else had weird wedding dreams?!

I have had the same dream over and over,

It's my wedding day, about an hour before it starts I realize that I have completely forgotten its my wedding day, and everyone else in my life has forgotten too. lol.

So here I am rushing around trying to get ready and no one is helping me. lol

Then we get married with the 3 people who didn't forget and then I usually wake up lol

Oh girl Ive been having SO many lately. Had one last night that I found out I was preggers and my only thought was how I needed to buy a bigger wedding dress haha

Also had a few that I was too drunk and didn't remember my wedding and didn't write my vows or even have a caterer.

I haven't had any yet, but my fiance had one last night!
He said he had someone tie his bow tie, but then it looked like a clown tie, big and floppy, so he started looking around for more ties. He found a bunch and was trying them on, and then he found a string tie that was blue and glittery, so he tried it on for fun. Just then, the ceremony started, and he realized he'd left his jacket up at the front of the church, so he had to walk in front of everyone in the silly tie.
Then apparently he knew nobody at the reception and no one was talking and it was very awkward.

I have no idea what any of this means, but it was very funny to hear this morning!

    Completely normal. Smiley smile

I've had two so far. The first was my dad walking me down the aisle but, refusing to remove his big bulky winter jacket and fuzzy toque even though it was quite warm out and all of the other guests were dressed normally in sundresses and such. I remember being so angry at him but, no one else seemed to notice.

Then a few nights ago, I dreamt that I was making mashed potatoes while wearing my gown and veil and couldn't find the right ingredients. Eventually, I took the cheese sauce for the mac n cheese and used that instead of milk to make the potatoes. I was so upset thinking people were going to hate my potatoes. It was very bizarre (and no, I'm not self-catering so no idea why I was making the food at all). I did wake up extremely hungry and a small part of me wants to try this concoction (though I'm trying to behave and cut back for the wedding).

I have been having them too! It is very common since it is such a big focus in our lives. Always weird things for me- like my dress and veil is covered in paint splatter!

I had one the other night!!!! It was about another dress though! 😱 It came down to two dresses for me and I just completely fell in love with the dress I ended up picking! But when I woke up I was alllll panicked second guessing myself! So I actually went back to the salon to try on that other dress to calm my nerves..and it did! Lol! It solidified I made the right choice in the beginning...thank god lol!

I have been having a TON lately, but my favorite so far has been that I am getting ready to walk down the aisle and my Day of Coordinator is someone I've never met. She tells me "It's time! Bye!" and I ask where my wedding party is and she says I chose not to have one... weird, but ok... so I walk out and I'm at my childhood neighborhood pool. All of my friends and family are sitting on pool loungers while they're dressed up, waiting for me to "walk down the aisle", which is just the lane in between the separate pools... the kicker is that the pool is still open to the public, so people are running around in speedos and bikinis while my cocktail attire wearing folks are craning their necks trying to see what's going on! Also, for some reason I'm being married by a fifteen year old lifeguard... who keeps having to tag team the ceremony with another lifeguard because they're "on snack duty". Half way through the ceremony, my mom walks up to me and says "Is this thing still going on? So and so has to leave, their kid is going to a birthday party. We can't hear anything." I just stared at her like, did you really just ask me that? "Yes this is still going on, sit down." There are about 30 other things that are weird, but it ends with the lifeguard recommending that we commemorate our relationship by kneading "floam". Do you guys remember floam? Anyway, it ended up turning brown b/c our two favorite colors put together didn't work out. It was weird and I woke up laughing but furious!

I've had a handful but the most memorable were I showed up to the venue and no one was there because I forgot to send out the invitations, and then I had one last night where the person we hired to help with my dog (he's our ring bearer) never showed up and no one told us the dog wasn't there until the middle of the ceremony. I was so mad in my dream my FH woke me up because I was yelling in my sleep lmao

I've had a few but my most recent one was that the DJ wasn't the DJ I hired, but his 10 year old son. My photographer was on vacation and forgot about the wedding.

The most memorable dream was we were getting married poolside at a hotel, FFIL went to get smokes and got lost and was 45 minutes late and I was getting soo annoyed. I forgot my veil and had to climb a rope ladder to get to it, but I couldn't because I couldn't breathe in my spanx corset. My bridesmaids all forgot their dresses so they wore burnt-orange color silk robes and walked down the aisle and walked right back up singing a NSYNc ballad and I didn't know what to do.

Yeah, usually something along those lines - I think it stems from all the constant planning and worrying about forgetting something, so we worry about completely forgetting the wedding!

I had one the other night where I woke up late and nobody bothered to wake me, and didn't have time to get my hair and makeup done and had also forgotten to pick my gown up so I had nothing to wear...I don't remember how it ended lol.

I've had 4 so far, one last night and one the night before. The first two were of my sister trying to hijack my wedding and have her's at the same time (she's not planning on doing this, I've asked lol)

The night before last I dreamed we changed our wedding date and forgot to tell our photographer, so he never showed up, we moved it to my grandparent's house so only like 10 people were able to be in the room, we forgot to get an officiant, and I forgot to get alterations done for my dress, which somehow meant it had turned blue?? I had forgotten my shoes and jewelry and was trying to send my sister to get them while I altered my dress, but the shoes were over 2 hours away and the ceremony started in 20 minutes. Eventually I said "oh well", put on my mom's shoes, hiked up my dress, and said "let's do this."

Last night I dreamed that FH was upset because his suit was one-piece. Like the shirt was sewn into the pants and the vest was sewn into the shirt and it zipped up the back. It looked like a bad halloween costume.

I had my first one the other night! Basically my wedding was so boring that we put on a movie to entertain everybody, my ex and his wife were there, my cousin ruined my cake which was designed to look like a Disney castle, my underwear was left on one of the tables and I couldn't find my FMIL anywhere! And I was just so mean and bitter about it all!

    I’ve had endless nightmares lol
recently one was I never gave any of the vendors so no one knew when anyone was showing up and the second was my DJ was horrible and everyone left right away then I got mad at my FH for flirting with one of his friends dates so I went back to our hotel room to find out that we were sharing our room with my grandma on our wedding night LOL

I still have weird wedding dreams!

My most obscure wedding dream was that I married my lovely husband and when we got back to the hotel he told me he needed to tell me something important. When we got back to the hotel he pulled off his "face" and it turns out he was actually Neil deGrasse Tyson and he had to keep his identity under wraps so he could pursue his computer science PhD without being recognized (what my DH is doing). I kinda just said "it's okay, man. I get it!" And hopped right into bed with him...

i told my DH when we got up and he still jokes about it!

When you spend months and immeasurable energy on an event it would only make sense that it would manifest in your dreams.

I am always having wedding nightmares that something huge is going to go wrong (Photographer not showing up, catering fail, one with forgetting my veil at home moments before the ceremony, etc.)

Ive had weird dreams since I got engaged in September and I wont be getting married till October. The worst one was that only 5 people RSVP'd and showed up to our wedding. We each have 2 parents 2 siblings and FH's sibling is married. It wasn't fun lol
