Weird wedding gifts

Who else has gotten some odd wedding gifts? Today we received a card with $30 worth of $2 bills inside. I mean, they're super cool and I don't want to spend them, but I guess I just keep them forever?? Lol. In my eyes a $2 bill will always be worth $2. But hey maybe they will be worth something one...

Who else got some weird gifts?

ETA: I thought I should bring up the fact that someone got my sister baby clothes for a wedding gift. It was so weird. Lol

Jersey Jen - did you go to Bloomsburg? I have a couple $2 bills, and a picture of me and $2 Bob with Ron Jeremy. College was weird.

My aunt gave me $50 in $2 bills when I went to college... In case I ever just needed a "couple bucks". I thought it was cute for that, and yeah, this broke college kid totally spent them all! Lol

No gifts for me yet... But I'm hoping there won't be anything weird!

A friend received a painting of garden gnomes. This isn't something she or her husband collect (they were also not gardeners) so thought it was an interesting gift. She was trying to personalize the thank you card and googled the painter to see if maybe they were from their hometown/some significance. Found out the artist was a porn star. Now it gets passed around to other brides-to-be in the family.

These stories are amazing. I almost kind of hope I get something really weird so I have a story to tell my future kids when they get married!

Nothing really weird but I did get a $20 gift card to Home Depot which is basically just a $20 coupon to Home Depot. Because. What can I buy with that? A couple packs of gum and a 2x4?

I've always heard $2 were bad luck but I think it's an Southern Appalachian thing. Lots of people like to tip with them for some reason.

We've been on vacation this week, and I got a call from my mom saying a package had came for me. I don't get mail delivered to our house because people like to steal it (which is a whole other story in itself). I hadn't ordered anything so I was thrown off. I made her open it while I was on the phone and she described it as some kind of sponge set for cleaning or something. She was hysterical because she said it was so awful. I'm on my way back now so I'm curious to actually look at what it is. But we definitely didn't register for it and it came from FHs mom, which makes it even more strange because she's sending gifts four months before we get married.

At a friend's wedding, FH and I were dropping our card into the card box and noticed a few random $20 bills floating around. Cut to later that evening, another friend of ours admitted that it was him that put the $20s in there, with his named on them, because the local gas station "has an ATM but they don't sale cards."

DH and I got a weird, handmade textile that we assume is a table cloth. It has a thick, bright green border and is covered with splashy blue flowers.

My parents got Susan b. Anthony coins. They used them as tooth fairy money, for my sister and I.

No lie, my aunt gave me a shower gift of TOE NAIL CLIPPERS, That actually look like feet! And a loofa and a Irish recipe cookbook. It was like she was randomly selecting items from her home to bring to me as a gift. I quickly moved over that gift and tried my best to look happy.

Sorry for thread resurrection (it's only been 3 days, can I be forgiven?)

Jersey Jen - I did! I'm 2012. We were definitely there together.

To get back on topic, I don't think I've ever received odd gifts. I may have to start giving toe nail clippers as a shower gift.

My grandparents went to the casino years ago and got a ton of the coin dollar pieces and spilt them up between me, my brother, and my cousin because you really don't see them around anymore. My aunt then promptly turned around and deposited my cousins share into her savings account. Needless to say my grandparents were kind of annoyed.

@sharon I know this is horrible but FH would love those comics (huge deadpool fan) but seriously? Spousal abuse?
