We weren't that far out of town but it was safer to stay at the hotel, my cousin gave everyone a bottle of wine once they got there room keys. It was unexpected and super nice but not something i would expect at every wedding

Nice to have. If i’m Not financially able to do this for my out of town guests then I won’t kill my self over it. The wedding favors are more important to me.

Nice to have but definitely not necessary. I suppose, however, that they are super cool for destination weddings especially if there are events planned prior to the wedding itself.
