Welcome Get Together (post Reception)

Lisa, on August 13, 2019 at 4:38 PM Posted in Parties and Events 0 4

We're thinking of putting something together (informal) for after the rehearsal dinner since we will have some family/friends in town. We are already spending a ton on the wedding so were thinking of doing something more casual like "We're going to be at X bar from 9-11... feel free to stop by and grab a drink with us." Is this tacky if we don't pay for drinks? What's the best way to organize that and word it to not sound tacky? We are just thinking it would be fun to see some of our out of towners.

We had a rehearsal dinner with 70 guests then had a casual "meet us at the hotel bar at 8 PM" in the welcome bags & on the website. This wasn't hosted at all, but around 50 guests (some from the rehearsal dinner and some that were in the hotel already) came and everyone mingled and hung out. It was really nice and no one seemed offended we didn't host drinks or even expected us to pay for them.

Not rude at all for a casual meet up with everyone.

I love this! We didn’t do this at our wedding, but I’ve been at a few weddings that do. Posting something on your website is appropriate.
