Welcome Sign vs. Programs vs. Nothing

Hey everyone!

So, my DOC encouraged me that programs are a waste of money (which, I totally agree). But then she suggested maybe having a welcome sign that listed the bridal party and important people. Her logic was since there wouldn't be a program, people would want to know what was happening/know who's in the BP, and a welcome sign would solve that. This has me kind of perplexed, because...wouldn't a sign pretty much be the same cost as programs? I'm interested in a welcome sign..I think it would be cute for the ceremony and then we would be able to take it to our home and hang it up.

Anyway! What are you doing? Do you know of any sites that sell the welcome signs with the information of the important people on them? I'm looking on etsy and having a hard time finding anything.

I personally don't think people care that much. I listed our parties on the website for those who want to read it. We have a simple welcome sign but nobody is listed on it, and no programs

You can get a piece of wood from Lowes for $10 & stain it yourself. Super easy to stain. If you know anybody with a Cricut, you can have them make you a stencil to paint the sign or vinyl letters. The only DIY I’m doing are the signs because it’s all crazy expensive online. I’m making a welcome sign that’s large enough for 100 people to sign for about $25.

I'm planning on a welcome sign. Probably like a chalkboard with some nice drawings and calligraphy since my family friends and I are all fairly artsy. I'll probably put it in the foyer of the church we're having it in, right outside the sanctuary.
