Todays Focus: My welcome sign.

I have my 3 inspirations and am looking to merge the three into something I love. However, chalkboard signs seem to be so expensive! Where did you buy yours? Has anyone DIY-ed one of these?

I would love to see your welcome sign inspo pics, or from BAM members what yours looked like!

I got these two at Home Goods. I'm also making my own bar, buffet, and photo booth sign. I'm using silver frames for those.

I got a couple signs at Home Goods. One was a chalkboard easel with a white frame that said "welcome, please choose a seat, not a side", and another one that was a framed canvas and said "welcome to the best day ever". I also got a chalkboard sign for my bar from a friend who has an etsy shop. She has items in her shop ready to purchase, but also does custom orders. https://www.etsy.com/shop/CustomBoardsbyDi

Do a search on www.searchtempest.com for a chalkboard easel or an art easel. They are easily painted and you can paint the front with chalkboard paint.

I downloaded something from etsy (not chalkboard because I don't like that look) and I took it to get printed and put on a foam board and used a regular easel. I wasn't going to pull my hair out over something no one cares about lol.

Lol agreed that I don't want to pull my hair out or spend a fortune, but I definitely think it would be a nice touch to my very plain venue.

I'm not exactly on a tight budget so much as I don't want to spend a ton on it. Some things have different value to people, like I am definitely willing to splurge on photography, but not something like a welcome sign. I am looking for cheap ways to do it.

We ordered our welcome sign from Etsy. The 2nd pic shows what it looked like when it arrived (we're remodeling our house so ignore the construction). On our wedding day, we had the florist encircle the sign with a large wreath and display it on a wrought iron floor easel. We displayed it in front of the church entrance (the straw is from the live nativity scene they had later that evening) and then in front of the entrance for cocktail hour at the venue.

I ordered this from Vistaprint and it’s perfect it’s 18x24 poster that I framed in a gold frame and put on a dark wooden easel. It was on sale so it was like under $10. I’m in love with it. Gets the job done at a fraction of the Etsy costs! I wanted a wooden sign so badly but with our venue being a wooden building I didn’t want to over do it. (We aren’t having a rustic wedding.) I definitely recommend looking into them! We got the welcome sign, the cookie table sign, and all of our invites and everything will have the same greenery on it! One year from today!

We're not having one. People will know they are attending a wedding, and our venue does not allow them.

So wedding wire won’t let me fit the whole sign in... but this one is for the entrance to our reception. Bottom says our wedding date and hashtag although you can’t see it because of the cropping!

We bought wood from home depot, cut to the size I wanted, stained, and then used chalk to trace the lettering on (Pinterest has tutorials - basically print off what you want, shade the backside of paper with chalk, and then place paper on wood - then trace lettering firmly with pen and it will leave a chalk outline for you to color in!). Since taking this picture I have gone over the lettering again so they’re more solid white
