Welp....I dropped my keys down an elevator shaft

I came in to work, surprisingly energetic. One could say....too energetic. I was bouncing my keys in my hand, they bounced out, I tried to ninja catch them mid air (I swear, normally I can do this). Instead, I successfully punched them right over the crack where the doors are just as the doors...

I came in to work, surprisingly energetic. One could say....too energetic. I was bouncing my keys in my hand, they bounced out, I tried to ninja catch them mid air (I swear, normally I can do this). Instead, I successfully punched them right over the crack where the doors are just as the doors opened. Naturally I said, "oh no oh no oh no", reached for the keys, and bumped them and down they went into the elevator shaft.

I wonder if this means I'm stuck here forever.

That's like my biggest fear! Come on, what are the chances though? Maybe it's your lucky day!

Bahahahaha. This is honestly one of my worst fears - I always have my phone in my hand on the elevator. But I always think "What are the chances of it falling just perfectly so?" Thanks for letting me know it can really happen.

HAHAHAHA MY KEYS GOT SHAFTED! that's hilarious.

I have also flushed a phone. It fell out of my pocket in a bathroom in Orlando. I stared at it, contemplating if I wanted to stick my hand in there and the autoflusher took it away to it's briny resting place.

I have ALWAYS been paranoid about this after watching the opening episode of Dead Like Me, where the main character is on her first day of work and accidently drops a file folder down the elevator crack. Smiley xd

I have had a phone almost fall into the toilet after that one, but my ninja skills of snatching things out of midair were okay then lol. Complete with the "noooooooooooooooooooooooo" slow motion face.

I have to laugh about most of the dumb crap that happens to me. I react in exaggerated fashion too. This was my face.

Lmao that is hilarious!!! I am sorry that happened. But all I can picture in my head is it happening and I think if I had been there I would be on the floor laughing. Smiley smile

I had a friend of mine do this a few years ago. I remember it taking them hours to get her keys out of the elevator, but they managed to do it. Smiley smile At least your at work. She was in her elevator in her apartment building. So she couldn't even get into her unit.

I had to have someone come pry up a couple of boards on a wooden deck after my rings bounced out of my pocket as I ran to answer the phone at an office complex I was managing.

Had a plastic name tag sleeve fall into a toilet at a conference. Yeah, I fished it out -- didn't want to cause plumbing problems at the venue. Washed my hands, repeat, repeat, repeat, repeat...

An ex was changing a tire on the side of the road, near a grate. I suggested he move the car farther away from the grate. Of course, he thought I was being ridiculous -- until he accidentally dropped the jack handle through the grate. Yeah -- he's an ex!

You know, I'm impressed. It DOES take a lot of skill, not to mention impeccable timing, to get your keys to fall perfectly in the gap and down the shaft. Good job!
