We're pregnant. And my bachelorette is next weekend.

FH, MOH and I went together and found out I am 5 weeks along. We're worried but excited because it's really bad timing. But if it's God's plan there is nothing we can do about it except accept it and be happy about it.

I don't want to tell anyone yet (except my mom, which is a scary thought in itself) but my bachelorette party is next weekend and I have no idea how I'm going to get away with not drinking at my own party. It's at my mom's house, so at least we aren't going out, but still. MOH has offered to make all my drinks so it looks like I am, but it's a small house and my friends aren't stupid.

How do I make this work?

Congrats! I would tell by BM and ask um to keep it on the DL. I mean when you tell them they can do the math and find out you where preggers before you got married.

Are your friends the type for someone to hand you a shot or a drink and egg you on to drink it all together? That situation might be a bit sticky if you don't want them knowing..also I worry if there are mocktails for just you, someone's glass may get mixed up, or if they are rowdy drinkers, pour more into your glass..unless it's just more low key which it sounds like it is, maybe that won't be an issue.

You could say you are on antibiotics.. you can't drink when you're on antibiotics.. for a sinus infection or something ;P

If you want to fake sick, use a shade lighter of face make up. So you look sick.

Well MOH was with FH and I when we found out the other day for sure (I had taken two positive home tests) so she knows.

Today I meant to tell my mom but when I told her I wanted to talk to her in person and not on the phone she called me and said "Okay, either you called off the wedding or your pregnant. Which is it?" I was like "Uhhh...what do you think?" She said "You're pregnant aren't you? I'm not stupid I had to tell my mom twice! At least you're almost married!" When I told her we were scared to tell her she said that we were silly and she was extremely happy and excited for us and that she was proud I made it farther than she did! She was 18, never married and not in school when she got pregnant with me, so she's glad I'm almost 23, almost married and almost done with school. We were worried because our finances are not in the best shape right now, but we are doing everything in our power to change that.

Also, I got diagnosed with a bladder infection this morning, so cont...

So I *will* actually be on antibiotics. So no lying there! Plus my friends aren't totally nuts, I'm sure it will be a bit of whining and then they'll get over it. However, my aunt offered me a taste of her alcoholic drink tonight and I had to tell her the antibiotic excuse...here's hoping she bought it! Haha. I don't want to announce it to anyone but our moms yet because I want to be out of the woods, so to speak, and past the first trimester. I have known too many people who announced it and then lost the baby.

Anyway, now that we've told my mom FH and I are so stoked! We cannot wait to meet our new LO!

Thank you ladies for all of the congrats! Between losing my job and FH's father and now great uncle passing away we really needed some happy news and now that I know how excited my mom is about it I am even more giddy about it; despite the cramping from the kid burrowing into my uterus and the nausea I'm already starting to feel. It will all be worth it when I get to hold this sweet little baby and call it *ours*. FH and I just keep repeating "We're having a *baby*!" over and over because we have wanted one for over a year but have been trying to hold off. I guess God had other plans!!! <3

My best friends aren't the only ones who will be there and I don't want to spread the word to everyone right away. I am very paranoid because of issues I've had with my body in the past (no miscarriages or anything) and I would be more comfortable not announcing it until the wedding or a little while after. I won't be quite 12wks at the wedding, but close enough to work for me. Plus it will be exciting to announce it to all our family members together in person.

Aww I'm so happy that everything worked out for you and your mom was happy, and you don't have to lie to your friends, and that you feel excited now. Triple congrats!!

I hate drinking...but I'm in an industry that loves to party and drink. I've learned to get soda water and add a lime into...nobody has ever questioned it.

I was also told in college to empty out a beer can and fill it with soda or something else and just always have it in your hand.

I'm sure if you act/pretend to be tipsy...nobody will question you...especially if they're all drinking themselves Smiley smile

MOH and my mom and I were discussing how to fool everyone. We will probably let everyone know in July or so but until then I'm going to keep it on the DL. At least until FH and I can find our own apartment.
