What about other people's weddings have left a bad impression on you?

As I'm going through the nitty-gritty of wedding planning details in preparation for the perfect day, I found myself wondering what mistakes or oversights my guests will really notice or remember about my wedding. Thinking back on weddings where I was a guest, I was surprised at the things that stuck with me:

1. The entire wedding was absolutely beautiful and elegant, but the bride looked extremely angry right before she walked down the aisle.

2. The bride felt poorly in her wedding dress during the reception dancing and disappeared for an hour with her bridesmaids. The groom acted like nothing happened and did not check up on her.

3. The wedding party got "lost" on their party bus ride, and dinner was two hours late.

4. When nothing suggested it would be an alcohol free wedding but the couple served bottles of grape juice.

5. When the invitation said 'black tie' and we were the only ones to actually show up in black tie. No one else went beyond country club casual.

Honestly? The worst thing I have ever seen at anyone's wedding was horrible behavior on the guests' part, not the hosts.

Cash bars, reception slideshows, honeyfunds, or any other etiquette faux pas? Not ideal, but meh, I'll live.
Being surrounded by people who make me deeply uncomfortable? I will leave well before the cake is cut!
Incidentally, I was dragged to a wedding when I was younger where i was seated with some people who make me VERY uncomfortable, and when I saw the cake was coconut, I almost cried because it was the one thing i thought i could possibly enjoy about the day and even THAT wasn't possible!

Pizza and swimming sound like a MUCH better way to spend the evening!

Same thing happened to me. The groomsmen’s girlfriend was my ride and I had no idea until after everyone started leaving the venue. I was a MOH to my best friend’s wedding. We arranged for all the groomsmen to ride with the groom, and her dad and I were to ride back with her to their house. I was in the back of the venue with the cleanup crew helping take stuff down and cleaning so they could get their deposit back. And everyone was gone when I finished. My phone was on 2% and I kept asking everyone what was the plan. The groom was drunk and starting a lot of problems with the wedding party outside, so the bride kept running away to help him sort out stuff and de-escalating the situation. The girl that volunteered to give me a ride was annoyed already and I didn’t feel comfortable and I felt left out and forgotten. So I get back to her house because I stayed the night prior and my keys were there and I stated that i was going home. I told her how I felt about being left out and not in the loop. She didn’t care about how I felt and got very confrontational she was rubbing in my face all the stuff she does for me. From there we haven’t talked to each other for the last few days and I’m okay if we continue to not talk ever again.
