What are you Diy'ing??!?!

Brittany, on April 22, 2020 at 4:14 PM Posted in Do It Yourself 0 16

To begin...... my heart is with you all that aren't able to celebrate as planned because of this Virus Smiley heart

Since we are all stuck at home, who is DIY'ing decor and other items for their wedding?!?!?

Our wedding date is in September, and God-willing, we are getting married on the 5th. I am curious to see what you all are doing for DIY!

I recently found some GREAT ideas on Pinterest and now I can't stop finding ways to budget and put personal touches in my decor. I am looking for similar ideas as below and hoping I might be able to help someone by putting this out!

1. My in-laws are helping us create our own menus out of copper piping, ties, and wooden bases

2. I am buying corks to insert small paper for place cards and table assignments

3. We will be DIY'ing my backdrop out of PVC piping and fabric.twinkling lights

4. We stained a few raw wood easels in different colors for wedding signs, reception signs, etc...

What else are you guys doing?!

Gotta say love the date and your name btw! It's my birthday when you are getting married! These are awesome! What wonderful ideas and DIYs you are doing!! Is there anything else or are you looking for more ideas??

I am doing my own bouquets, making my own card box, doing the invitations, and making my BP gifts like tote bags with their initials. Still looking for other items to do as well to see if we can cut some costs!

    1. My flowers. This is the big one. I was able to lower the cost significantly by taking this route. $3k -> $750

    2. The table numbers with small pieces of wood that are stained.

    3. The large welcome sign. (I'll be doing all the signs with the Cricut.

    4. FH is doing the card box as well. He's pretty crafty.

    5. My invitations! This was a task that I underestimated but I'm paying significantly less, so I'm not gonna complainSmiley smile

    6. The seating chart! I've been tossing ideas around as far as design, but I'll definitely be DIYing.

I LOVE the seating chart idea!!!! I saw something online that had your choice photo frames (8.5 x 11 or some larger) and doing the seating chart by table per frame if that makes sense...

You'll have to share what you end up doing. Been trying to talk my FH into a Cricut. I told him the couple hundred bucks could save us a lot more!

How did you do that!? Do you have a cricut? I'm a bit limited in that region so i'm working off any stencils I can find!

What are you using to DIY your own invites? I am curious. I am supposed to order mine this month, BUT slacking and curious if I can save some money. They'll cost me about $200.

Well I DIY'ed a lot so far. I have made our cake topper out of clay, painted mason jars for our centerpieces, stained and painted wooden stars to go under the mason jars, stained and painted numerous signs, stained and painted wooden crates, made cake stands, designed our invites and RSVPS then printed them and cut them out and glued them to colored card stock, addressed all the envelops, baked a practice wedding cake, made custom wine tumblers for my BMs. That's what I have done so far before my wedding i still need to bake everything for our dessert bar and our real wedding cake.

I will be doing more than I originally had planned. Too much time at home looking at Pinterest lately! DIYing has given me a good activity for weekends.

    1. Ceremony Backdrop with sola wood flowers2. Table numbers and small signs (bar, guest book, desserts) with pressed greenery in frames3. Welcome sign with pressed greenery
I'd also like to do some welcome bags for out of town guests and something for our card box, but I haven't figured out what yet (wedding is still a year away).

My MOH and future in laws both have one so I thankfully didn't have to buy one. I've been eyeing this for my seating chart but I've been having a hard time finding the acrylic boxes for a reasonable price. With everything going on, I've had more than enough time to go back and forth on what I want to do. lol

Adding tulle bow and beadings on my sun (honeymoon right after our wedding), adding decoration on my beach espadrilles, combining 2 pieces of lingerie to make a sexy bodysuit, fixing 2 dresses to make it look neatly sewn, and printing my vow also needs to be done...

Thank you! I am very excited for you!! I think you! Ours is October 31st I think you will be able to!

So my friend and mum have a circuit which honestly is the best thing ever! I am making a mask shape invitation so it's going to be fun! I know that there are ways to make them your own though without the circuit. What do they look like?? That's not a bad price for how many though??

I’m DIYing just about everything! I’m an art teacher so I LIVE for DIY! I’m going for a boho theme and we are getting married on a beach so I’ve been doing lots of macrame. Macrame table numbers, macrame bouquet holder, macrame seat decor... and I’m making these dream catchers as favors —needs some beads still though.

I bought an old looking mirror on a facebook site and i am going to use my cricket to design a cute little welcome sign!
i’m gonna make favors for everyone using coasters and my cricket as well.
and instead of heels i’m gonna buy a pair of converse and cover them with pearls and on the backs of the heels put Mrs. Nance. (also doing a pair for my daughter as well, she’s the flower girl)

I’m doing my favors— grandpas cookies with the recipe attached
Ceremony ceiling cover— sheer fabric with hanging baby’s breath installations
Centerpieces— candles, flowers, candelabras Welcome area— draped flowers, pictures of us attached to a pallet, guestbook, Polaroid cameras And all of the signs for the welcome, table numbers, down the pathway from ceremony to reception. I’m using chalk markers on stained wood pieces or on clear floating picture frames.
