What are you doing for your guest book/guest record?

Emma, on November 26, 2019 at 12:54 PM Posted in Wedding Reception 2 75

I was hoping to do something a little more creative than a book. I have some ideas but I just really don't know.

What are you all doing??

We did a large photo frame (I think it was 20x20) and had the guests sign it.

I was thinking of a Polaroid guest book but my photographer mentioned that even though it would be fun in the moment, it will collect dust for the next 20 years. he suggested a canvas, a framed photo, or another decor item that we could display in our house instead. Still thinking on it.

We're putting all of our engagement photos into a photobook that guests will sign. Artifact Uprising is the site we're using (bonus is they're having a sale for Black Friday!). It will allow us to have our engagement photos serve a purpose (since I'm not going to frame that many to place around the house).

We are doing a Polaroid guest book and I am super excited about it. We love looking through photo albums together and we have many albums of different events since we’ve been together, so this will be an extra special addition to our photo album shelf Smiley smile

We did a puzzle similar to this one. Our son and future daughter in law will have guests sign an illustrated copy of a Harry Potter book.

I did a polaroid guest book and I absolutely love it. Yes it will collect dust over time but so will a canvas or even a wedding album if you chose to print one. My guest book is probably my most favorite thing I have from my wedding because I get to look at it and see the joy and excitement on my guest faces and you can just see how much they enjoyed themselves. I 20 out of 10 recommend doing the polaroid. My husband and I didn't get to look at our guest book until probably three days or so after the wedding but we enjoyed the photos and sweet notes our guest wrote. It's by far better than a random item with a bunch of signatures on it.

Ours were two jerseys - New Jersey Devil's (hockey) and Baltimore Orioles. My husband is really into sports so I thought it was a cute touch. He is from NJ and we live in MD so those are his two favorite teams. He also loves football, but we didn't want three jerseys so we only went with hockey and baseball. We plan on getting them framed for our one year anniversary as they can be expensive to get properly framed. What are you doing for your guest book/guest record? 2

I follow MissDesignBerry on instagram. They do custom drawings of the couple/family or whatever you want. I think we want to get a large canvas and have guests sign that.

We want to do a bucket list sort of thing- we're always up for an adventure, and what better way to start our life with bucket list from our favorite people.

Ah! Good to know! I think it would be a lot of fun and kind of a replacement for a photo booth. How did you organize it? Did guests just snap pictures for each other?

What are you doing for your guest book/guest record? 4we decided on a box like this! It's pretty and unique. You have the guests write notes on the paper (seller provides the paper in your wedding colors with the box) and roll them up and stick them inside! I got it on etsy. This is a sample picture. I don't have a picture of mine at the moment but it looks almost exactly the same

I also imagined looking back in 20years and seeing friends and family back in their "prime" so to speak. I feel a bit nostalgic on it and my photographer had almost talked me out of it so I'm glad you commented.

For the record, I asked my photographer if he'd seen it done and/or other things he'd seen done. He didn't just outright offer his opinion.

This is exactly why we did it! I love photos because those in them will not always be around and so I wanted a way to look back at who all was there and see the changes over the years. We had two cameras and lots of film (I reccomend Amazon for that) and we had a bridesmaid there at the beginning but once the guest figured out everything and got the hang of what to do that bridesmaids moved on to enjoy the evening.

We had a Love Letter for everyone to sign. I put masking tape on the actual letter so no one would sign on that part. It looks great now that the tape is gone.

What are you doing for your guest book/guest record? 8We did a large board and hung it in our house. It’s not completely signed in this picture (taken early in the cocktail hour).
