What are you doing for your rescheduled/canceled bridal shower?

Hi fellow brides to be! This is such a tough time for everyone, and especially brides who have been dreaming about their day and have to now reschedule/cancel/make other plans due to the unfortunate and unprecedented events!

My bridal shower was supposed to be March 22nd. We had to cancel literally days before because things went from 0-60 so fast it seems like. Just the weekend before, I was out and about, not really concerned and then bam, everything's closed. My bachelorette was supposed to be last weekend, that was canceled, and our wedding was supposed to be 4 weeks from tomorrow, May 30th. We postponed to July 18th but i'm not feeling very hopeful that is going to happen either.

But, my FSIL had an idea about a "stop by shower" where people could stop over quick, drop off gifts, and grab their favors. And at least say hi, all while maintaining social distancing. Guests from the shower have been asking my mom and my FMIL what they should do with the gifts they had already purchased for me, if they should drop them off or what. So my FSIL thought this might be a good option.

I just wanted to see what everyone else is doing?

I'm so sorry you've had to cancel so much!

If you can do a "bridal shower parade", you should! It sounds like a nice way to at least see people, maybe have a short chat, but also stay safe.

I've seen a lot of people do little parades for birthdays, weddings, and even people who have had no choice but to move.

My MOH and her husband came over for a "stoop chat" last month - she has a geeky craft business, and made us masks, as well as brought us supplies from her essential job. We sat on our stoop, they stood by their car, and we had a nice visit. It's hard not to hug people, but it is nice to see them in person, at least.

I didn't plan on having a bridal shower, but I am going to have a virtual bachelorette happy hour in lieu of my 4 day trip to New Orleans. i plan to have a paint and sip activity and send each "guest" a few NOLA-inspired trinkets and I have hired a virtual DJ to provide some music for the event. Maybe a virtual bridal shower could be an option if you have your heart set on having a shower prior to your wedding. I've been to a few baby showers where the child had already been born, maybe you could do it after?

This is all up to you and what your heart desires, while following the rules of course .

I'm actually having a drive by shower today! My shower was originally April 4, but we had to postpone to May 2, thinking things would be better. We're still in a stay at home order in my state and the thought of postponing the shower again made me really anxious. There's so much unknown and I felt horrible that we kept changing things on our guests. My mom suggested the drive by shower, so that's what we're doing! We're setting up a table for guests to drop off gifts and pick up little favors. I'm sure it will be a quick, but it will be nice to see everyone!
