What are you getting engraved inside wedding band???

I think I might use a line from a song being played in our wedding that is meaningful to us, but I may have to shorten it... What are some of the things you are having engraved inside the wedding band?

MissGeek, please at least get it in Elvish. Or heat sensitive or something. Totally worth it.

@Ally, I think that's an adorable idea! I think the ones that have a backstory are the sweetest one of all.

I had R and A para siempre mas 9-7-15 engraved in his. Our initials, forever more in Spanish and the date. I don't know if he engraved mine. He knows I did his but doesn't know what it says. It cost $20 at a jewelry store.

Before I realized his tungsten ring isn't good for engraving, I was going to surprise my husband with putting "for everlong" inside his ring. "Everlong" by the Foo Fighters is his favorite song and was our recessional song.

I'm with Miss Geek. First I was going to get him one of the replica one true ring, but decided not too. I have a friend that writes Elvish (yes multiple types of Elvish) so I asked her what "I love you" in Elvish would be. She wrote it out for me, and I'l have it engraved into his ring.

We didn't engrave- but looking at these, I think that would be so sweet and so personal! Perhaps for our first anniversary we will.

I've been thinking about this for a while, and think I finally settled on "Our lucky day," since our wedding is on Friday the 13th.

I LOVE ALL OF THESE! Thanks MissGeek and Rebecca for giving me some ideas! At the beginning of my relationship, my fiancé would always say "Ditto" (and he was not a "Ghost" movie fan) instead of "I love you" and it bugged the daylights out of me! I would always tease him and then started saying it back to him... He decided he didn't like getting it back at him so he started actually saying "I love you" instead... but "Ditto" is now our inside joke. And I'm actually having Everlong by the Foo Fighters played acoustically as I walk down the aisle to meet my fiancé!

I'm REALLY enjoying reading everyone's responses and love seeing that this thread has given others the idea to maybe do it too! Keep 'em comin'! ; )

Danielle - Most jewelers will do it for you. May depend on the number of characters engraved as to the cost. I was quoted around $65.

Awe i love this thread... we didn't have time to get anything engraved... might do it after the wedding. We are always 'arguing' over who loves who the most. So I coud go with Love you the Most. Or once we were IMing eachother at work and wrote velo instead of love... so that's something else I could see engraving in the rings.

@Rebecca - My FH's band is tungsten and I got it engraved with no issues. I bought it from a jewelry designer on Etsy who offered the engraving for free. Have you tried small local jewelers? In my experience they are more willing to do these types of things. I got my ering sized at a small local jeweler who did it in house in an hour. The big chains all wanted more money and to send it away for weeks. Many of the smaller jewelers I spoke with also offer engraving on any metal.

I finally made my decision... My fiancé was a roadie for Van Halen, back in the day, so I'm surprising him with our Recessional song which is Van Halen's "You Really Got Me" and I had engraved on his ring, "You really got me now!" with our wedding date. : ) I'm pretty sure it'll make him smile.

By the way, his ring is Tungsten and no problem on getting engraved by Kay Jewelers. Ended up costing less than originally expected - under $20!

I am engraving his with "I love you Mostest." or "mostest" undecided at this point. We always try to top the other with who loves the other more...or mostest. He usually says more and I usually say mostest. I even bought a little wooden sign for the shelves in the family room that says Love you more because of it.
