First we wrote a nice heartfelt note for each of them. We made our moms personalized tumblers with their names on it and the phrase "I get by with a little help from my friends", gave them a cute canvas tote bag, gave them a nice Infiniti necklace and made them each this frame. We'll put pics from the wedding after. The center frame says "You held my hand for many years, supported me through joys and tears. And though I am married and on my own, my heart will always be tied to home." ETA: pic

It depends on you budget. If they're paying for the wedding, and you have a pretty decent budget, a gift certificate to a B&B is a fantastic gift. We received one from here for our wedding and I can't wait to use it. www.selectregistry.com.

Steal away, Jessica!! Everything (except the tote bag) was DIY, so it was really inexpensive but it all came out so good. There were tears! lol Smiley smile

Giving my FH his dad a framed canvas picture of them togther when he was a baby. I will be doing the same with my dad. It is a picture of my dad holding me at the hospital when I was born. Then I am getting the moms (mine and his) a jewlery box from Etsy that says Ill love you forever, I'll like you for always, as long as I am living, your baby I'll be. Then inside I will have a hankerchief engraved for each of them. One from me that's says thank you for raising the man of my dreams with our wedding date and one from him to my mom.

My parents are paying for the entire wedding. FH's parents are divorced.

We got both my dad and my FFIL a pilsner glass etched with their initials. They both are beer drinkers and FFIL actually brews his own as a hobby. We also got my dad a grill tool (a turner/spatula) and the wooden handle is engraved with "Father of the Bride" and our wedding date (my dad loves to cook/grill and actually own a BBQ catering company).

I do not like FMIL so I initially had a hard time shopping for her. I settled on a handkerchief personalized with "Thank you for raising Jon to be the man of my dreams" with the wedding date on it, that way it focuses more on FH and less on her/us. We also got her a picture frame with our names and wedding date etched on it.

I got my mom a ceramic jewelry dish with a lid. The lid says "I'll love you forever, I'll like you for always, as long as I'm living your baby I'll be". My mom read the book to us growing up and the quote has special sentimental meaning to our family! The inside of the dish I had engraved with a personalized message to her. I also bought her the "mom" Alex & Ani charm bracelet which I will put inside the box. For my parents together, we got them a similar mirrored picture frame engraved with our names and wedding dates.

I also plan to buy my parents a parent album for Christmas.

We're just giving them parent albums that have been added in our photographers package. Our parents aren't helping with the wedding so I'm not trying to get them anything else.

We are doing a picture frame with our names and wedding date engraved in it and that's it. It's more of just a gift and not a thank you.

If our parents were helping out financially I would gift each parent individually with something that suited their personality/liking and spend $100-$150 each.

My fw already bought her mom her gift. A pair of earrings. And she didn't contribute a penny. In fact owes fw thousands of dollars! Though she is walking my fw down the aisle. I wanted to do personalized handkerchiefs. I'm sure my fw will end up buying ANOTHER gift for her mom so she don't feel left out at the rehearsal dinner.

These are all amazing ideas! Lots to look at. Deciding on all of these gifts have definitely been the hardest part for me..my parents paid for my dress and FH's parents (divorced and remarried) are joining together and doing the rehearsal dinner. So I wanted to do something special for them!

    Thanks ladies!!

Our parents aren't doing anything, not even the RD. I paid for the MOB and MOG dresses.

They are getting a parent's album.

My (not even real) godmother, OTOH, is helping out a lot. I am going to get her a personalized Pandora charm, wine and photo album.

Rosie9615, I ordered from LittlePeanutGallery. Their shipping times were spot on, but it's not like they were shipped out within a day or two. It took a week or so to get the order ready (might be because we ordered 2 of them). I didn't care that it took a couple weeks to get here because the wedding isn't until October anyway. I'm very happy with what I received though!

We bought them a vacation- all expenses paid. They deserve a little R&R.
