What are you wearing to courthouse for marriage license?

On feb. 24th I will have to go get my marriage license. Do I have to wear a dress? Or I can just dress casual? Do I have to have a bouquet? I have never been to courthouse marriage before so I have no idea how it works. sorry for the dumb question, but I would appreciate your help

LD- FH and I are getting married in Nevada and their license is valid for 1 year, crazy right?

OP- we just wore everyday clothes.

EW- we both had to be there and sign a few things.

Nadia that is crazy! But hey as long as it's not going to expire before the wedding, go for it!

I'm pretty sure calling us "losers" is against CGs.

**I am not calling anyone anything, just pointing out name calling is against CGs.**

LD- we actually got it in October because it's a few hours away and I didn't want to stress about it right before.

Are you planning to actually get married at the office or are you just getting your license to get married elsewhere?

    We just got ours today.

We were both dressed for work (I dress more casually than my FH) and didn't feel weird at all, even though there were couples getting married standing behind us in line.

We are in CA and signed today. The officiant and witnesses sign after the ceremony. It was a very easy and stress free process!

Just to apply for the license you can wear anything. In my state, both parties have to be present. It's good for 60 days, and must be returned within 10 days of the ceremony.

If you're getting married at the courthouse, you already have your license (in my state, you have to wait 1 day after getting the license to be married) and you can still wear whatever you want. Lots of people wear bridal gowns, lots of people wear just a nice dress, it's also totally fine to wear regular clothes.

@EW Where I live both parties don't have to be present if you have their social # , place of birth, and full name.... which is strange if you ask me

I just needed a piece of his ID in order to get our license. He signed the application and that's all we needed

Thank you everyone I really appreciate your help, some people said that it was rude for me to wear just jeans and shirt to go get my marriage license that's why I needed to make sure.

@celia I will be having church wedding on April 23rd that's why I need the license first Smiley smile

@lagrosera thank you for your advice, thank you for sticking up for me <3

@debbie like I said before I have never seen a courthouse wedding, I just wanted to make sure I can wear normal clothes, so I don't look stupid in front of others.

I didn't grow up here, in my country people don't even need a marriage license, they just go to church get married and that's it. I'm sorry this question bothered you so much. Smiley smile

Ew: in ny both people have to be present with multiple forms of ID in order to get it. One person wouldn't be able to just go pick it up. Just FYI.

Omg it's just getting your license. Why in the world would you think you need a bouquet to get a marriage license.... this can't be real.
