What are you wearing to courthouse for marriage license?

On feb. 24th I will have to go get my marriage license. Do I have to wear a dress? Or I can just dress casual? Do I have to have a bouquet? I have never been to courthouse marriage before so I have no idea how it works. sorry for the dumb question, but I would appreciate your help

    Then just wear regular clothes!

You know I can be very blunt but I don't understand all the negative comments, honestly. The woman asked a question that was a little murky; I was wondering if she was getting married at the courthouse. She's not.

The license is just saying you can get married, like a drivers license says you can drive. You don't need to dress up.

I'd say before you go, call them and make sure if you're picking it up after a waiting period that only one of you has to go. In NJ, you both go with a witness to apply, but only one person goes to get it, and some clerks will let someone else pick it up for you.

@Celia you just reminded me, and I think I gave incorrect info on another thread. Shit. I totally forgot that we didn't take our application home that day, but DH went and picked it up. Now to figure out where I gave someone wrong info...

Also, my comment must have gotten flagged. Boo Smiley sad

If you're getting married AT the courthouse, you both go in casual clothes and apply for your licence. Here in FLA you then wait 3 days. Then after the 3 days you go back dressed in whatever you want for the courthouse to perform your civil ceremony and sign your license. You can dress up or you can dress business casual or all the way casual. If you're having a wedding elsewhere, in FLA you apply in casual clothes for your license, wait the 3 days, and then pick the license up in casual clothes. Then you produce the license to your wedding officiant after the ceremony to sign. Then you sign, your hubby signs, your witnesses sign, and whoever else signs like a notary, and then you have a certain time frame after the ceremony to returned the signed document back to the court to be recorded.
