What are your opinions on PDA (Public Displays of Affection)?

I ask because this morning, I took the Metro (DC subway) to work. The couple across from me were smacky-kissing and simpering and baby-talking about how much they were going to miss each other. I ask because this morning, I took the Metro (DC subway) to work.

The couple across from me were smacky-kissing and simpering and baby-talking about how much they were going to miss each other. Since neither of them had luggage, I assume they were just going to miss each other for the eight or so hours they'd be at work. Really - neither one was taking a ten-year mission to Mars.

I gotta say, it was just TOO MUCH and absolutely nauseating, especially before I'd had my coffee. I could barely keep my eyes from rolling out of my head.

I am severely non-PDA. I just find it incredibly awkward...you can tell DS and I are feeling romantic if we're less than three feet apart. Seriously, we may hug or hold hands, but kissing is for private time.

So am I uptight, or was this couple just utterly gross? I can actually take making out more easily than I can deal with baby-talk mushiness. How much PDA do you and your S.O. do?

I'd much rather see a couple showing pda, than fighting and arguing! If I don't like what I see, I turn the other way. To each their own! There's not enough love in this world if you ask me!

I love hand holding, hugging, and little pecks but thats as far as it can go. i ahve actually been out and seen people with their hands down the other ones pants. sick! you are in public first off and second off you are totally going to go touch the salt shaker with his weiner germs on your hand!

It took me a while to get use to some PDA like holding hands, kissing and hugging(nothing sloppy) because in our culture it's not popular, it's not something you do in front of anyone older than you, these things are private. I've gotten use to some and I'm very much comfortable with it but I make sure the environment is suited, if I'm at a party and dancing with FH, we can usually just go at it from the start of the party to the end because everyone so busy doing their own thing, there are no kids around and usually lights are dimmed and off, but we'd never do it at a subway and all. I think it should be kept to some extent, there's nothing wrong with showing affection but sometimes I do wish that some people would be more aware of their surroundings.

We went to my brother's graduation a few weeks ago and this one couple was just going at it, biting thong, liking faces and just making out, my mom had to cover my lil bro's face, it was really inappropriate

Haha the best is when people walk around with their hands in each other's back pockets.

FH and I are not affectionate in public and I always have to assure others that we are very loving behind closed doors. lol. I get uncomfortable when we go to dinner with another couple and they are holding hands sitting next to each other, or have their hands on each other's thighs. It annoys me, maybe because FH and I don't do that, and maybe because we don't want to do that.

Hands down, teenagers feeling each other up and making out in line at amusement parks is the absolute WORST. I just want to punch them all in the baby maker.

FH and I will hold hands, hug and kiss. That kind of PDA is fine, but making out, and baby talk (which I hate) is too much. But all that bugs me is making out, or more extreme things. Kisses, hugs, and cute stuff is fine

@heatherm umm hands in the back pocket is sooooo cool. In fact it might be rad.

DH isn't a fan of the PDA. I enjoy the hand holding and pecks, it doesn't bother me. I hate the baby talk. DH starts to get that tone when he is sick...cripes!

We are big hand holders. We many give a quick hug or a quick good bye kiss but nothing more.
